| Has anybody on here had any experience of Landmann BBQ's? I need to buy a new BBQ as I've been using disposables for years and I need to man up I've been looking at this one as I quite fancy the smoker attached: Landmann Tennessee Smoker BBQAny feedback or other recommendations? My budget is £150 max and the BBQ must be rectangular/square and have a lid | |

| I don't have one but have used a friends that looks just like that one but without the smoker.
It cooked very well and it was good that you can close the lid to 'calm things down' when it starts to get a bit lively.
It's also possible to put less charcoal in and use half of the cooking space for a smaller cookup rather than the full on 'feeding the 5000' event if you fill it right up.
The one i used also had a smaller shelf slightly higher along the back which was useful.
Will need to replace my BBQ soon too, what's the price? ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

I've got the Outback Portable BBQ. It uses the disposable gas cans that are used in the mini camping stoves. Packs away into a carry case Guess what colour ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van

We use a Cadac Safari Chef, beauty is that it runs off a 907 gas bottle, the same as the hob and grill, so if one runs out, in theory, you have a spare. (problem of course if you are using both!) This is the size packed, sorry havent time to show assembled, just off out, but you can see it on Google.

Thanks Daz, I've heard that they are good quality and built to last. That's why I wanted to spend the money on a branded one. I bought a cheap one last time, and because I'm very lazy decided the best way to clean it was with a jet wash. Several sheared bolts later it was in the bin Ooops - Tallulah wrote:

Will need to replace my BBQ soon too, what's the price? I do like the flexibility that you have with them, and they look pretty cool as well. I certainly like the idea of a smaller higher shelf, somewhere to hide those burning sausages. I might have to make a modification The one I put the link up to was £125, but that was the first site I've looked at. I'm sure I'll be able to find them cheaper. You can get some that look almost identical for about £80 on eBay. - jj123vw wrote:

GAS!!!!!!! Everybody knows that gas isn't a proper BBQ, you'd be better off with disposables

Everybody knows that gas isn't a proper BBQ, you'd be better off with disposables I thought that until I bought one 5 years ago. Best decision ever made. So quick, easy and convenient, and with ceramic media, tastes just as good.

| I'm the same as LL - used to spit on the floor at the mention of gas BBQ - that was like going over to the 'dark side' - but then the old man gave me his old one - and I'm afraid that I'm hooked - love it - 2 mins and ready and just as tasty - and no need to storm down to B&Q etc for charcoal all the time! I have a very dinky charcoal one which is the size of a small make up case (I'm reliably informed by Batgirl) - which is excellent for Beach Barbies - which we do a lot in the summer. Cheers - Batty | |

| We had a gas one at the static caravan but didn't get on with it at all. It really wasn't the same in my opinion, and we had load's of problems with the wind I must have missed the constant smoke in your eyes no matter where you stand ________________________________________________________________________________ | |

I have a Webber Gas BBQ for home which is brilliant, we use ours all year round, but agree there are times when you want to relax with a beer and set fire to stuff! We use a Campingaz party grill in the Bus as its instant so great for making breakfast …but it’s not a bbq as such. Skytiger, I like the look of the Notebook BBQ, is it man enough to have a small fire in it after cooking, as some sites we go to are OK with small fires as long as the fire is in a container off the ground. ________________________________________________________________________________ 2006 Air-Cooled Duby

CC sites might object but they look quite good. Personally, I've a hankering for one of these portable wood burning stoves (embedded link)

I like the look of them, I've never seen one before so might have to buy one.

| I had hoped to but it’s a mental weekend for me, Friday night taking my lad and his friends to his end of school Prom, then have to be in Hatfield for 8am on Sunday so an overnight is really difficult. Worse case I may pop over for a day visit to meet everyone. If it looks like I can make the day I’ll ping the campsite see if I can get a day pass!! ________________________________________________________________________________ 2006 Air-Cooled Duby
