Forks - it is with HUGE sadness that I have to share the news that we have to part company with our Brazibay, after only 1 year :-(

This has been driven purely by a change in my work situation - on the upside, I'm now working 10 minutes from home in Brighton and not spending 4 hours a day trekking up to London each day. woohoo!!!! On the downside.....money is a bit tight as a result, and we just couldn't afford to keep paying out the loan on the van.
We had planned a trip to France in the van this year, but for the same reason we couldn't go.


So yesterday we took her back to Ian @ VWKampers, who is listing it for us. There were many tears yesterday......

I vow we will be back one day - in the meantime, if anyone is looking for a much loved and 'nearly new' van, with a lovely lovely VanWurks interior, please send them this link.

thank you all - I will be following the goings on here for a while as a non-owner, if that's ok..... I hope this is a temporary situation.

Also if the new buyer of the van ends up here, I can stalk them in case they want to sell it back one day!

Just to say also, despite the occasional drizzle that weekend (!), our trip to CamperJam this year with the Brazibay team was a real highlight of our camping year, so thank you all for that!!!

Thanks Irishman - yup it's been a very depressing weekend without the van, especially given the weather!

I'm trying to cook up a plan to get a cheap 'make do' camper in the meantime though - a T4 maybe - a fraction of the cost, most of the fun, just without the looks :-(

We'll see. In the meantime, will keep an eye out for you in the 'hood.

All - at the risk of posting an update to a very old post and it going unnoticed (!) i just wanted to drop a quick note to say that we have managed to avoid selling our beloved Brazibay for a bit longer...!
We had an offer of a sale back in September last year but it fell through in late October and of course no offers since.
I have now settled into my new job, we got married (and it wasn't as expensive as i'd thought?!) and with some careful financial jiggery pokery, organ-selling and petty crime we think we can afford to hang onto our van after all...

It's a VERY happy day!

Fantastic news, I am sure none of us would want to be in that position and consider losing such an iconic van...I would definitely choose a cheaper wedding and a bit of scull duggery to keep my lovely van...but then again I have already done 2 weddings so this wouldn't be top of the priority list.

Hey KC - What bloomin' great news! - Karma of course - I agree that the falling through of the sale was meant to be mate.
I saw your Brazibay when I was at Ian's during the week (Weds) and it definitely was missing you and your family - looked very sad all on its own - so good it's going to be back in that family fold again.

Thanks all - very kind of you to welcome us back to the fold! Now getting very excited about our first outing.

Out of interest is there a group pitch at CamperJam this year? Despite the appalling weather we had a great time last year - the kids loved it as well....although i must remembe to pack wellies next time and not just flipflops.

Thanks Batman - i actually cycled up there the other week one Sunday morning and she was looking forlorn, and had one eye missing (the buyer we had was French so Ian had to switch the lights over). I think that was the tipping point!
