Fear not my friend. I am collecting my Kombi on the 1st of August.
I called 4 insurers and got it sorted in the end after 3 days on the phone
They will not insure it if its got 8 seats.

No one will insure the Kombi because of its eight seats and the usual camper insurers are not interested in them as mini buses

Hi Rob,
I had problems insuring my Bus, it is a Danbury import but converted privatly. We really struggled with most insurers due to it not being a pukka Danbury conversion.
We eventaully spoke to Comfort who were superb to deal with, really helpful and reasonable price including RAC etc. they are on 0208 984 0777. K.

Try Adrian Flux - not the cheapest, but they know all about Danbury Type 2 Brazilians, and insure them happily as new vehicles at the purchase price you paid. I am in my third year with them - their breakdown service is cr*p, but the insurance is fine.

Best to always check the recovery cover you get with insurance companies as they are often basic cover. May be worth while paying for extra cover that covers you from anywhere in the UK (or abroad aswell if your planning overseas trips) back to your chosen garage in the UK..(and not just any garage that they choose to take you to)
