Have a fantastic time everyone. Who's organised an event for the weekend? Sat-hatter day last year was great fun.

Was thinking about that Abs: Stripey Saturday was what Ben and I came up with!

And I've just gone and bought a hat!

So a quick catch-up from across the water.

We had a casualty in Portsmouth. Dazdub caught his brake servo linkage on the entrance to Morissons car park shearing the arm off. Despite efforts to do a quick fix the party had to leave our friends behind. However a quick SOS on Facebook soon brought help from a local VW specialist and the dazdub crew were able to join us 24hrs later.

The main group were last on the ferry - no fault of ours - but it did mean the queue at the bar was huge by the time we got there. We then had about 3-4 hrs sleep before disembarking in Caen. The journey to the campsite was smooth but long as the country route was blocked by roadworks and we must have spent an hour trying to find a decent reroute. Anyway we arrived with great enthusiasm for the Kombis from both the staff and other residents of Oceano D'Or. After a few drinks at night we all slept very well! To be continued!

Yes it's very easy to upload pics to Facebook so I do recommend people join the Brazilian VW Bay group if you want to see what we're getting up to.

Made it to La Rochelle for the day

Looks fantastic, but then, la Rochelle always does (stares wistfully out of window at grey Wigan sky...)

Fun times with great mates. The wifi is a bit hit and miss so it's not ideal for uploading stuff. We'll no doubt have a full selection of pics and stories once we're home. Hope all's well with all you guys back in the UK and elsewhere.
