After all the issues I've been having over the past year or so it looks like everything is working and over the last 1000 or so problem free miles my confidence In Ginger to get me places has returned. So it looks like she'll still be a member of the family for a bit longer I now have a to do list.
1. Hookup light or buzzer so when I'm connected and the ignition is on I will get some sort of warning so I don't drive off with it connected again
2. Get the bumpers wrapped to stop the stone chips and keep the rust at bay
3. Fit an actuator to the R&R bed so it can be setup with the press of a button
4. Possibly, with a lot of saving, lose the Danbury roof and get the Westy style roof
Can cross 1 and 2 off the list
To add
Edging strip for the guttering. No matter how many times I clean and repaint the edge of the gutter I still get rust spots

Danbury offer this mechanism now on their new Transit 'GO' model. Perhaps the route to 'go' for your T2 modification.
I have been considering adding a strap behind the seatback which could be left visible when the bed is down. Pulling on the strap to lift the seatback through the first few inches would be excellent as this movement is the only difficulty in returning to the seating position.

There are a few vids on youtube which may give you some ideas KM, I searched 'electric rock and roll beds'.
There is one company in Colchester, Visiontech, but most of them appear to be fairly hefty, as the seat swab slides straight out on runners rather than lift up and over, as a result they have to lose the supports at the foot of the bed.
The runners look like a beefed up version of Ikea drawer sliders.
