| Reading the article on the brazillian bay roas trip in camper on commercial, they mention upper storage nets. I can find nets for door cards but not 'upper nets'. Does anyone know if these are available? We have seen a wooden storage unit attached to the roof in the back of the camper, but we need a few more trips to see if it is needed. Perhaps we could fit a net instead - or is this a daft idea | |

| Not a daft idea at all. We took out the roof boards and I put in two wardrobe rails with a strong material stretched between them. This provides roof storage both on the move and also when parked up. I copied and adapted the idea from lilyvwdub. | |

| I like the next above the driver, but I think some trim would need moving. Perhaps next Christmas! I looked in a couple of split screens last night and found they had lots more space for a wooden unit -the pop top takes up a lot of space. I've now found this which looks ideal as we have a tow bar fitted: An old trunk is needed to sit on it, and not the platic box that can be bought with it. We think that we could use this to take sleeping bags, duvets, pillows, towells etc, and then perhaps have space in the camper for clothes and children | |

| You can fit so much in a kombi. Until recently we travelled with EVERYTHING inside - duvets, clothes, food, chairs, sun canopy, wind break etc. etc. - without a problem.
We now have a trailer to use if we need extra space, but this is mainly for when we want take our kayak, wetsuits and other 'outdoor sports equipment' away with us.

Why do you say not the plastic box? Does it not fit on a Kombi, or is that just your aesthetic preference? (I'm asking because it looks useful and I might get one!) | |

| I agree that does look brilliant - perhaps I'll be able to take something on holiday after all We want an old trunk purely on aesthetics but they may be too small and heavy. They do have a large plastic box which looks ideal. My wife spent half the night showing me old trunks on ebay - I think the decision has been made... | |

| We finally went for the Thule bag. We bought a trunk - but it was far too large. Old trunks were rusty and full of holes. The Thule box looked diffucult to pack as it opens half way down the front face. The bag is ideal! I also can't believe I posted this last year... | |
