Come on..... we've all wondered how our vans would survive a crash....and hopefully none of us ever get to find out, but it seems some unlucky camper has recently taken a hard knock and now the van is on eBay being stripped for parts!

despite the obvious high impact the cab area looks "reasonable" just hope the occupants walked away!

Luckily the family walked away but were very shaken up, the driver escape with minor injury's and a broken foot i believe.

They were hit head on by someone who had fall asleep at the wheel.

It was a camper we sold a while back and was there first family holiday in it.

Just glad everyone was ok, its pretty horrific!

A lucky escape indeed.

Think the asking price of 30 grand is a bit of a dream though. Realistically the parts are worth a third of that.

I think by law they cannot sell the whole thing as its a complete write off, they are just breaking it for parts!

We have already got some very good hard to find items from it to get the Aqua bays on the road ..!

What is that behind the driver's seat and between the seats? Some sort of wrap around table? It looks like a Danbury interior but I've never seen anything like that!

Yes it's the door card off the now defunct sliding door and the remains of the radiator grille.

I spent over 10 years in the airbag business and crashed many cars, including rolling over Range Rovers.
Knowing the construction of our vehicles, I cannot see how they could possibly meet EU regulations now, but they must have got through on 'adaptations' to the original design.
I would never want to see one of our vehicles put through a crash test sequence as I fear the results would be shocking.
And yet, knowing this, I still own one, but then knowing motorbike statistics I still ride powerful bikes.
Life is for living, not safely cowering under a rock.

Would I put children in our vehicles? Yes! But only in the back with the lap-straps done up securely. None of this loose loop stuff. Preferably, if possible with 3 point belts. Also, preferably in the middle seat and not next to the furniture (cupboards etc).
Stay safe folks Smile

I hope it doesn't put them off Brazi bays and they are all OK as Ronnie says loose stuff in the cabin can be really dangerous too

The cheapest way is to buy direct from Mark at MCJ Products , he makes the Billet Alloy steering wheels for the Brazilian Campers and supplies the main people in the industry. Just make sure you order it with the correct Brazilian steering boss, there very easy to fit also. His web site is http://www.mcjproducts.com...

Many Thanks
