hi everyone and thanks for the welcome.

At the mo i don't have any other pics. I haven't even slept in her yet!! We got her in 29th August and as my husband is a farmer harvest kept going wrong this year so we lost our holiday. Then it was too chilly. Actually strawberry pie has only been out 3 times. Criminal eh! she's sitting in her cosy garage.

My husband is not keen on her and wishes i'd never bought her, although he was the one who opted for most of the extras!

I am going to have her wax oiled asap. I know that the protection that Danbury supplies won't be enough. There are a couple of issues with her. The roof has had a chemical reaction and there was some silver overspray on the wheel arch from something else. Danbury has not contacted me regarding the pics. I've been lazy because i really didn't want to take it to Bristol in the cold weather as couldn't stay in her with my young kids so she hasn't had her first service yet.

How are you guys finding the rust situation as i've heard a few comments from VW peeps that it will be rotten in 3 years! i also saw Brigitte's post about her rot. You are the best guys to ask. It has been worrying me so much that i thought i should sell her straight away before she's used.

If you could let me know your experiences it would be great.

Hannah please don't worry about the corrosion - just make good use of the information available to you here and protect your investment suitably. As long as where you're currently storing Strawberry Pie is dry and well ventilated, then all should be well. Enjoy your BraziBay, get it out on the road - it's what you bought it for!!

The majority of owners on here have vans older than 3 years and they haven't rotted away yet. There are some anomalies and known week spots but if you take some precautions (like waxoyling) then all should be fine.

My advice would be to get your first service booked in asap, get Danbury to sort the issues you've identified under warranty and get out there using it!

One event not to miss is the Kombi Sleepover at the end of May, we're expecting 50+ kombis there and some amazing entertainment!

Plenty of advice on here and doo get out and about in your Kombi - you will enjoy it

thanks guys. yes i'd love to come to the sleep over. I'm just starting up a holiday let business so i'll have to see if i'm booked up then. I want to be but of course want to do fun things like that too!

Could you point me to the area where the info is on the precautions to take, then i'll sort it asap.

Welcome to the forum Hannah , and great to have another owner in Kent , hope to see you out and about in due course. We're based just outside Dover or Canterbury if you ask the wife

If you type in waxoyl in the search function in the top left corner of the homepage you find lots of information on that subject.
The search function is also a good starting point whilst you find you feet around the forum.
Don't worry everyone on here is very friendly and will help you out , we've all been there!

I want to say thanks to I think it was Jason who contacted danbury. I was v surprised to receive a call from them yest to sort out the problems.

No not far at all Hannah , we're in Whitfield so hope to see you around. Sign up for one or more of the upcoming club events and I'm sure your hubby will soon be convinced the van was a good move.

Our van is 4 yrs Old , garaged , waxoyl'd and no rust to report , enjoy the van and am sure we'll catch up soon.
