Kombi Kaper Summer 2017 - Ile de Re - 5th Aug to 19/20 Aug

English state school holidays are very similar give or take a few days but Scottish schools start theirs at the end of June and return mid August.

How do we go from here? @TimV - do you have plans for next year's Kaper. We're there any discussions in Biaritz?

Wales is from 22nd July to 31sr Aug

Looks like we're July 22nd to sept 3rd - would personally prefers few days after trip to get unpacked and reacclimatised before the merry go round starts up again

Looked at holiday situation here at work this morning 2 weeks are still available in August so we'd be looking at Sat 5th Aug for 2 weeks and if that ties in we'd like to be included in some way. Unfortunately our Dinosaur of a Chairman insists on 2 weeks Mon-Fri holiday so we'd also have to travel at weekends but are happy to travel independently if again it didn't fit with the main Kaper's plans.

If our dates don't coincide with the main group that's no problem , unfortunately next year I've had to allow others first pick  

We'd be happy with 5th Aug - 17th Aug. Mrs HH needs to have weekend blocks too.
Sailings to St Malo are outbound overnight and return in the day. We'd have to either make a very early departure from the campsite on the way back or do like Als and have a stopover near the port.

Those dates would suit us as we'd probably have a week in France with family at the start of the holidays then join you on the island.

If we can afford it we might even bring the family to the island for a week. Before you guys arrive.

Super busy at work over the last 5 days but have been aware of the chat here.

I don't know what my plans will be for summer next year, so I wouldn't be able to commit to anything just now.

However, it looks like a load of you want to head back to the Ile de Re together, so I say go for it!!  I've spoken with Jean at Select-Sites and she'd be happy to put a deal together for you guys. Abs if you want to coordinate it, please give her a call.

2017 could see a number of KOMBI Kapers taking place, and why not?!

I'm sure they'll be some further discussion at The Daz Dub Doo this weekend but it'd be great to get something organised soon. I need a holiday to look forward to!

Ok, it looks like there'll be a Kaper to the Ile de Re in 2017. The consensus is that we go 5th Aug to 17th Aug but I'll look at sailings, etc when I'm back from the DazDubDoo.

I'll try to speak to Jean Castree to find out if they can book the same site that we used in 2015, if not I'll make contact direct.

If we're going to get on the Ferry we want we'll need to think about booking early. I've recently booked to go to Santander next June, direct with Brittany ferries and I only had to pay £35 to secure the booking.

Abs - we've got out Santander ferries booked too (for £35) going out on 20 June for 4 weeks. Thinking maybe Picos de Europa and Galicia.

Morning all - been having a quick look at options this morning - delaying tactics to actually doing any work!

The ferry -  Portsmouth to ST Malo - going out on the night ferry on August 5th and returning on the day ferry  on the 20th - camper, no trailer, rear bike carrier, 2 adults, 1 child,  cabin for 4 both ways
£723 (£35 deposit)

campsite not taking bookings til November but a rough costing for 13 nights based on what we paid this year for a grand espace pitch and on today's exchange rate approx. £502

We stayed at "Domaine de La Ville Huchet" on the last night and this cost approx. £36
