Hi Guys We had a great Bank Holiday Weekend at Alpine Grove! For this trip we rested Scooby and stayed in one of the four log cabins on the site. The campsite is a great location to explore a little to the South Coast - an area we had not been before. Below are a few pics of the weekend.
We arrived on site around 5.00pm on Friday - after familiarising ourselves with the campsite once more we settled in for the night.
Saturday was going to be a good day weather wise so here is the front of the cabin in the sun before we left the site to explore coast

Lyme Regis is only 30mins from the campsite and this would be our destination for the day. Had a FAB day in Lyme Regis - weather was great, had fun walking up and down the promenade, having coffee and cake looking out to sea ("cake by the ocean" ) Walked into the town and did a little shopping . . . Found a 'Gin Shop' with free tasting - it would be rude not to help the local economy - so we bought a couple of bottles of Gin that we liked after the tasting
Had fish and chips watching the sea and people walking past the restaurant, ending up with a Mr Whippy ice cream mid afternoon.

Back at the campsite that evening 'Swinging Hot Pizza' (a mobile pizza oven company) were on site for the Saturday evening. Enjoyed a nice Pulled Pork BBQ Pizza early evening with a drink or two, after a walking the trail around the campsite to 'burn off' some of the calories It was good to see the sun still shinning through the trees throughout the evening.

Had a lazy Sunday morning at the cabin and then spent a pleasant afternoon in Sidmouth which is only 45mins away from the campsite. Did not make it to Seaton and the Tramway which is located between Lyme Regis and Sidmouth - but that's another excuse to have a trip down this way again. Below are some pics of Sidmouth

Final pic of Sidmouth . . .
On the way back to the campsite we spotted these petrol pumps at Colyford - another excuse to come back this way, maybe on our bikes! Had a brief chat with the owner who had some FAB stories to tell about the place

We could not leave the log cabin without having a cosy little drink around the log burner - they doo through out some heat! Last pics from Sunday night . . .
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alpine Grove, the location, area and cabin were all great. In our opinion, it is an ideal location from which to explore the south coast or indeed 'stop over' on the way to or from Devon and Cornwall. So if you have not been before doo consider Alpine Grove.
