New member here with a shout out to Nigel ? for steering me towards this (great) site from the samba.com and a big thank you for accepting me into this page. Have been addicted to VW's since 1968 and have bought, sold, restored and collected for decades. We sold our modest collection when we moved from our home state in New Hampshire USA half way cross country. The logistics of secure transport to and storage at our new home was staggering so we sold everything off in 2004. Fast forward to 2013 when we retired and moved to Ecuador. After owning several vehicles here, last November we bought our 95 Brazilian panel van. She's a beauty and aside from an exterior respray in two tone, it is all original. I will look for the appropriate section to post my query as to what smaller diameter steering wheels/adapters fit the splines on the Brazilian bays steering shaft.

Welcome to the forum. If you can't find the information you need, please raise a question. I seem to recall that dazdub fitted a smaller steering wheel to his air-cooled van.

Thanks for the welcome. Still exploring the site but will follow your suggestion if I do not find a solution within. My 69 year old gut does not fit behind the wheel as it did in my youth :-)

I notice from eBay that there are both small spline and large spline versions. Do you know which is required Fax?

To voyager, that is a good catch. I wasn't aware the mk2 Golfs had both size splines. Honestly I do not know what splines I have on our 95.

To Scooby, I do have quite a few photos that I would like to post. I tried posting one but it said my file size was too big. With that said, the file was below the MB limit. Will Try again :-)
