Hey Guys Just had a FAB weekend at this event Whilst it is called Plymouth Volkfest it had more of a Summer Festival vibe There were possibly more tents than VW Campers, as well as some motorbikes! Arrived late afternoon on Friday in glorious sunshine
Soon made quick work of getting the awning up and started the BBQ and had the first Pimms of the weekend
Sat out under the moon and stars that night, just chatting with our friends while we ‘drank’ it all in
Saturday morning and we awoke to another sunny day
Oh yes, there was some bunting We were after all celebrating the Diamond Jubilee and 60 glorious years Scooby did not want to be left out so he celebrated 60 thousand kilometres on this trip
After an egg and bacon breakfast/brunch we made our first of many trips in to stalls and entertainment areas – leaving the dragon to keep an eye on Scooby
One or two more had now arrived for the weekend
There was such a contrast in vehicles as these two pics demonstrate
There were three separate stages, with entertainment starting around noon at each for about 12 hours! (They also had there own bar) Additionally, there was a Hay Bar (with bales of hay) and DJ Bar, serving drinks all day plus a food area There was of course stalls, an entertainment arena and a children’s ‘Playzone’ It was a very ‘family friendly’ event Some pics inside . . .
Think we upset these guys when telling them that is not how to hold a board
Some night time pics inside . . .
We sampled a lot of the bands/evening entertainment during the event but must say we did enjoy the ‘Blockheads’ set on the Sunday night During each day there was a Baja Club display and a track for showing them off
On the Sunday morning we awoke to grey skies and we had fine drizzly rain on off for most of the day Decided to walk to the shops to stock up on provisions as well as visit the Harley Dealership about 2 miles from the camp During the afternoon we spotted a couple of BraziBays at the event – we’re sure they were not there on Friday or Saturday The green one was from Wales – did not manage to talk to them but left a card
The orange one had a family of four with whom I chatted briefly and left a card
By around 6.00pm the on/off light rain had stopped and it turned in to a pleasant evening More food and drink were enjoyed before sampling the evening entertainment Monday morning it was dry and sunny, but the forecast for Tuesday was wet Decided to pack up the awning after breakfast while it was dry Go once more round the stalls, have some lunch and then head home Had a great time – enjoyed it all - here's to the next - Rooby Roo

So you lot had the sunshine box then! I'm glad someone did.
Did you really sleep in Scoobs on that camber or is that some trick photography?!

i have a question. what is this for a "holder" for theflag? it is so flexible. i looked for that some time, but not found that. here in our shop i only can buy a aluminium "holder" for the flag.

Hi Michel
The flag pole is a standard pole we bought with the flag The stall holder is at most UK VW events - will try to look out the name You can buy poles from 3 or 4m long up to around 9 or 10m long Ours is a 6m or 7m pole - cannot remember exactly
All the best Rooby Roo

These Are the flag poles we use. They are made of fibreglass. You might also be able to use a large telescopic fishing pole
