| Hey Guys Based on the latest numbers here are the Kombi Kolours for the Kombi Sleepover and here are some Rainbow Kombinations we could perhaps try on the Sunday . . . It is meant to be: 2012 ! then the word BAY then VW - you get the idea Not as easy as you might think and one straight line will be one heck of shot! Plenty of time for others to come up with some ideas for the Sunday Photo Shoot Doo remember you camera guys As you may of guessed - finished early today - waiting to see pics of the Yellow one known as lostlogik Rooby Roo ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| Sorry to burst your bubble but... surely this type of shot would only work from above or on a hill, and that's assuming that the top of all of our kombis was the colourful bit...
We need to be thinking in just 2 dimensions for this one unless anyone has a spare helicopter.... ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Elevation is possible in a number of ways - where there's a will there's a way But hey it was only an idea - 2D or not 3D that is the question? With regard to a spare helicopter speak to Roobarb (not full size 'copters) Rooby Roo ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| No plan just random thoughts really The options we can think of would include: Ladders:To lean against a tree or telegraph pole (or climb a tree for that matter) Step ladders - self supporting Stage framing:Self assembly stage framing Self assembly mobile scaffold tower Radio Controled models:Helicopter to hover over the area with camera fitted Plane to fly over the area with camera fitted Pole or Mast Photography:Use of fishing rod type poles with camera at the top - DIY Professional mast photographers But then again you may be right, it may look all white from higher up Forget we said anything - stick with the 2D option Rooby Roo ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| So in 2D you have the Rainbow Arch as a photo opportunity - as an alternative to a straight line - and we thought the following might work if the Kombis were a little closer together Mind you you, may need a wide angled lense to capture it all - or simply video it Still, hope having the names, numbers and colours all together will be of assistance to you Tallulah when co-ordinating it all on site - whatever arrangement you end up with. | Giving everyone a number based on their Kombi Kolour is a great idea and will definitely help with the organising.
We will need a Kombi Kolour Kommittee in order to review and allocate the numbers as appropriate on Saturday, or maybe Sunday morning - makes sense for this to be the forum flight crew - then it will be a case of getting everyone in order whilst taking extra care not to bump. I have a rough plan for how that bit might work too (without any bumps!!!) which will also present an excellent video opportunity.
We have a wide angle lens but I'm not sure the Fuji S2 SLR that it fits on is still in working condition - I will consult with my photography expert (Serena - she's got certificates to prove it!) and check - otherwise I'm thinking a panoramic shot might do the trick.
Other ideas:
"guard of honour" - similar to the inverted 'V' above but side on rather than facing forward, with positions 1 and 37 closer together and the 2 Kombis at the other end nose to nose.
"circle the wagons" - a true panoramic shot taken from the centre of a circle of Kombis. If we need to reduce the size of the circle we can have concentric circles, ie, a smaller inner circle and a larger outer circle that can be seen through the gaps.
Other suggestions welcome!! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

I've got an R/C helecoptor with a camera attachment, but I'm not too good at flying at the moment. Think I will end up doing more damage than good. We could try a Human Pyramid ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van

| Tallulah, Tim is already allocating a tag to everyone regarding the 'Star Kombi' competition - see below . . . "The Kombis will be listed by Brazilian VW Bay.com username and a tag indicating the name will be handed out on your arrival for placing in the window of your New T2." It should therefore be a simple case of adding the appropriate number - based upon the final Kombi Kolours at the event Don't think we need any thing else? | Ah yes, good plan, we can add a number to the tag once the Kombi Kolours have been Konfirmed.
Or, we could issue everyone with a number at the start then list the numbers in Kolour order although this might get confusing not being in regular numerical order for the shoot. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| You haven't suggested having them all raked yet (ie parked diagonally in a parallel line and taking a three quarter shot.)
I've not spotted this thread before, but have allowed myself to be amused by the differing poses of the various couples in the original picture. Sorry!
Have fun,

| I was discussing the options for taking an aerial shot of all the attending BraziBays with a photographer mate of mine today. We started with rc chopper with onboard camera - quality probs apparently - then camera attached to a helium balloon - but we'd need a big balloon and helium nearby. Then we thought maybe camera attached to a kite - but there might be control issues.
But then we hit a potential jackpot - how about attaching the camera to a very long pole? You don't actually need to go too high for the kind of shot I was thinking about. A number of us have flagpoles, so we must be able to build a makeshift cradle, attach it to the end of a lengthy pole and hoist it up, within the 10 sec timer time.
Just need an inventive member who's keen on photography to create the cradle ... I think we've got at least one in the tango spectrum! ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Great idea, when I was at Stonehenge for the summer solstice a few years back, there was a photographer there with a camera on a pole, about 15 foot long, with a long cable release (not needed nowadays with timers). The pole was almost like a broom handle thickness, and had a screw fitting on the end to take the tripod socket, I think a flag pole may be a bit too 'whippy'. but some 1" by 3/4" would do the job. | |

| Making the cradle shouldn't be a problem. I can probably make one to fit my camera.
As for the pole. We could use two flag poles strapped together so the large end of one is tapped to the thin end of the other. That way it should stop the whipping effect ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van

Done and Done. Bit of duck tape and we're sorted. Can do a 10 shot burst using the timer on my camera as well. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van
