Hi everybody,
With the number of members tipping over 400, I thought it was a high time to reveal who sits behind the wheel of Rudi the Camper! While my better half is doing a lot of PR, I am simply enjoying getting down to the nitty-gritty of driving our orange beast! So, apologies here, more members - yes, the number of vans - stays the same.
You may say that being a 402th member may be a slight coincidence, but maybe it wasn't afterall - I remember those very well-aimed references to Rudy 102 (famous Polish tank)! So, again, Rudi402 welcomes the community!

Yup, he is my husband. Interested more in technical stuff so decided to have a separate account

Hello, fellow Yorkie!
Have you been to http://www.yorkclassicvws.co.uk/ ? They organise a drive-out once a month - would you like to meet at their next outing? Would be great to see another Brazilian. We've just joined them informally in January.

They were rather friendly although probably we wouldn't have risked contacting them first if we had not been invited!
Kate, the lady who runs the whole thing is very nice and approachable and when I put an ad for our company on her website she invited us straight away to their drive out (she owns VW beetle).
Just in case I asked her if that means she's not prejudiced against Brazilian VWs and she said she had one last year as her wedding and honeymoon vehicle. So that settled the matter. We joined them once so far and it was good fun! Some photos: here
Fair enough - some mean individual who wasn't even there left later a comment on Facebook " Shame it's a Brazilian, will be rusty in four years" but we happily ignored him
I will let you know when is the next time ( we missed last one as Rudi was going to his service in Danbury on that day)

Probably just bitter that he can't afford to run his old bus any more, although on the plus side he has lots of new fiends who work for the AA!
