Am nearly there , have looked at a couple and am liking the Dahon Mu Uno Folding Bike 2014
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_categoryId_165577_productId_1031869_langId_-1?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Bikes-_-Folding+Bikes-_-708335&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=xml

Have also found a local stockist  offering it at a far better price than Halfords too.

You will like the Brompton ,we love them ,you just have to appreciate the price ,alot of British workmanship has gone into them, depends how much you want to use them ,we use ours quite a lot, storage is good in the vw,we liked the thought that went into the chain being on the inside when folded.

I love the Brompton - mines silver - never thought of putting it on the roof rack though, great idea!

Anyone fancy joining me in the Brompton World Championships at Goodwood on July 27th? http://bwc.brompton.com/bwc-2014/register/ There's a camping option there too. Will be lots of fun, and I'm doing it to say I've cycled the track at Goodwood, hopefully next time I can drive it in my van :-)

Did think about it but not for long. Nowhere near fit enough and ritual humiliation goes against the grain.

Also clashes with the Kombi Kontinental Kaper, so I have another, more valid, excuse. Smile

Of course it does, I soooo wish I could have done the Kontinental Kaper - now THAT will be much more exciting!

I looked at those online Marcus nearly went for one but went for a Dahon instead on recommendation from a local independent bike shop.. This one is 12kgs and I wanted something a little lighter to put up on the roof rack.. It actually looks like the frame is very similar to my Dahon.
Will be bringing mine along to Eksdale for a little ride out...
