The KOMBI Sleepover 2013 Fri 31st May - Sun 2nd June

4 weeks today, irishman, kiteman and myself will be heading up to Banbury to start preparing our show. It's a beautiful sunny day today here in Surrey. I'm going to box this sunshine up and bring it along to The Sleepover.

Glorious here too Tim and, boy, has it perked me up over the past few days.

Yep I'm definitely solar powered!

This time in 4 weeks our show will be ON!!

With weather like the weekend it will be so hot it will be the cool place to be!

As some of you may know, I'm currently in the middle of my final school placement for my PGCE. Owing to the way my work commitments have panned out, along with child care arrangements, I regret that I will not now be able to attend this event.

Will be sorry to miss this but my spot will have to go to someone else. Hope to catch you all later in the year.

That's a real shame Chris - hope the placement's going well. I'll have a vodka on your behalf!

It's getting close now folks ... if you are still deliberating over whether to come then let me help you out .... COME .... we have a fantastic set of people in this club and everyone is very friendly. (I also need 8 more BraziBays for my photo idea!)

Not only that but there are going to be some great prizes up for grabs and Scooby's Auction is going to have a Danbury Service including parts and labour as one of the items .... you could get that for a real knockdown price ... the proceeds of which all go to our club charity of Cancer Research.

The Admin Team and I have put in a lot of work on this year's event and it would be great to see it supported by everyone here. Lots of people frequent this site on a daily basis - FREE OF CHARGE - and it would be great if that was reflected by a decision to attend The Sleepover. I look forward to seeing you there.

Remember folks, this is (y)our event of the year. This Forum is nothing without its members and this is an opportunity to put faces to names.

Tim works tirelessly running the Forum and I doubt there's a week goes by without someone gaining some extra knowledge from here.

Alison and I had a great time last year - it was one of our highlights since acquiring Absinthe and we made some great friends who we're really looking forward to seeing again.

Now's (y)our chance to get together to celebrate the unique vehicle that we all love so much and have a great weekend. If you don't own a Kombi yet, there can't be any better chance to get hands on with over 30 at one time and to talk to owners who will give you their views, warts and all, on the ups and downs of ownership.

I really thought we'd get to 50 vans this year - our membership is huge now - if you're wavering and not sure whether to come or not, let me reassure you: you WILL have a good time and you WILL be made welcome.

Personally, I can't wait...

With three weeks to go Scooby hopes you have all got your 'Fancy Dress' outfits!
Last year there were only three of us dressed up
This year there must be more - you know you want too!
On the Friday we have the 70's Disco
On the Saturday we will be dancing through the decades right up to the present
So plenty of options for everyone
Be there or be square
It's gonna be FAB

'Duck Camp' (training for Ducks) started this weekend ready for the Sleepover!
Scooby is to run 'Duck Mania' so they need to know what to doo
They all seemed eager to start at the front . . .

We shall see how long that lasts!
