| we've recently covered 964 miles on a round trip in our Ronnie and got an average of 32.93 miles to the gallon. Ours is water-cooled....out of interest, do we all get similar figures whether its water-cooled or not.... and has anyone a claim of achieving great mpg? ________________________________________________________________________________ Timmm

| My best over the last 360 days is 36.24. I seem to recall getting 38 once but can't provide evidence My worst is 25.39. | |

| I don't reach 'great MPG' in mine but to honest I knew this when I bought it. It's not my daily driver and I've always had the philosophy that it's smiles per gallon that matters more. | |

| We regularly get 35mpg on longer journeys, drops to around 30mph when only doing short runs around town, work/school runs. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| not worked it out yet mainly as erratic fuel guage means i always fill up at 400kms on the trip which seems to require roughly 30 litres of fuel to fill which equates to 38mpg which is probably a bit high so i would guess if i bothered to look properly it will be in the 35mpg zone, i've got michelin energy saver tyres though as TimV said its smiles to gallon that count really! | |

| Seriously, when I'm not flooring it I reckon Max does 25/26mpg on average. The contraption going on behind me is worth giving up 7-10 mpg. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| seems about right for aircooled doesnt it Tim i assume the sport kombi is if its 2004? its not the sort of thing to worry about unless its really bad indicating a problem, would be amazed how many people probably cart around lots of stuff they dont need everyday like chairs as they take them camping and cant be bothered to take them out, water in the tank, roof rack etc are all mpg sapping until its £5 per litre in dont think we will see any Aerokits for fuel saving Kombi's | |

I take pretty much everything out that isn't required unless camping. I know some who don't - you know who you are - but I'm sure it's more to do with storage. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |
