Sutton bank Empty
PostSubject: Sutton bank   Sutton bank EmptySun Oct 05, 2014 6:13 am

I'm off camping soon to sunny Scarborough but the route I usually go is up Sutton bank which my Zafira doesn't particularly like. So I was wondering has anyone tried to get up this monster of a hill in their bus and most of all did they manage it?

I'm sure your van will do it. I remember going up there regularly as a kid and my Dad's car always struggled a bit.

My sister has a farm just down the road and I've got great memories of having a couple of gliding flights from the Club at the top of the bank near the White Horse.

Good luck.

hi there , yes no problems with getting up the bank ,just remember to get youself in the right gear (pref 2nd) at the right speed at the start ,and remain in 2nd to the top.Try avoiding any "slower" vehicle in front of you if going the wrong speed ,as you will/may have to engage 1st,which is not good!! we have done this route countless times with no problems, just pick your place /time and take your time.we have been known to stop at the bottom of the hill and wait for the "gap". Why not avoid it ? if not confident, other routes are available!! we have just got back from sboro, wather was great ,lots of rain Saturday night ,but otherwise sunny and a little chilly, surfing championships a little let down as completely calm!!! again! enjoy your stay
