NOT - camper friendly roads !!

Hi everyone, I have finally managed to get back on the forum (thanks Tim!). We are finally settled into our new home in Tanzania and a new way of life.  Before leaving to come here some people did say 'are you shipping your camper out?' We had been told that some roads were paved - the main ones, but we hadn't been told just how bad the tracks were.  Two weeks ago we had a biblical downpour which literally washed tracks away - a common occurrence once the rainy season starts. Anyway, this is a picture of the road outside the school at which I teach to show just how poor the 'surface' is.   Just be thankful that our roads are not this bad. I haven't seen a single Kombi and only one T25 since being here. Clearly the roads are not conducive to VW owning! I will be adding to the second vehicle - what else do you drive thread soon to show the vehicle we have bought to cope with the roads - and starting a couple of new threads which you might find interesting.  Another big hello to our VW friends over there.

Thanks for the update. Great ppicture. Hope you've got something with big wheels, high ground clearance, 4wd, reliable, airy, .... the list could go on and on

Can't really moan about the pot holes over here now.

I don't think the brake bracket would be worthwhile on those roads!

Mmmm...... could this be an opportunity for the first Kombihovercraft? Road surface shouldn't be too much of an issue then!

oh I think we can ....Moaning is a national tradition .
