What's on your Christmas List?

Just thought that if members added some details here of things they had found to put on a wish list for Christmas then it would give others a chance to consider them as well.

As a starter - My book choice for Christmas is 'VW Bay Transporter Restoration Manual' £30 from haynes.co.uk

Just out of interest osg - why do you want a book on 'restoration?!' Can't see you needing that for what 20+ years?

Not for everyone I suppose.
I'm interested in how things work and how they are put together and find that books on restoration show a wealth of detail and explanation.
Also seeing what went wrong gives some chance of stopping it happening to our camper.
I already have 'How to restore a Volkswagen Bus' by Mark Paxton with a massive number of colour photos (veloce.co.uk, isbn 978-1-84584-093-8 ). Great for understanding what goes where and the strengths and weaknesses.

There an episode coming up with Mark Beresford who has a Camper. He's built a Tardis in his garden. There's also a woman who's used would to carve dashboard parts for her T2 in this week's show.

I was given Martin Dorey camper van cook book the first year we had Margot and I also now have camper van coast. Lots of info about owning a camper as well as the recipes. How about National Trust/ English heritage membership? I think Tesco clubcard do a deal on the latter.

Yes if you are always out and about in your camper, English Heritage helps with something to visit and somewhere for a coffee or meal too. National Trust also provides entry to a network of their free car-parks around the country.

If you join the National Trust via Direct Debit, you get 12 months for the price of 9 months, + a free pair of 8 X 12 binoculars, (if they are the same as the ones I got, they are compact and come with lanyard and soft case, and are small enough to keep in the glove-box, though probably not as good as those above) still 'two birds with one stone' as it were.

Also another suggestion is for a book we bought, if you like Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset (I think the publishers do similar ones for other coastlines)

Indeed, he decided he needed to overtake everyone just as we approached a junction we needed to take. The rest of us turned as expected, Sunny did not...
