Just spent nice weekend at church farm rd campsite, Aldeburgh in Suffolk. There were a couple of old bays, a splitty , T25 and a 04 brazi bay (they had left before had a chance to speak), site was quiet but with some nice friendly folk.
Nice serviced pitches, the facilies block is fairly new and spotlessly clean. Its in a great position situated opposite the pebble beach and just a few minutes stroll along to the town of Aldeburgh,. If you havent visited Aldeburgh before its a traditional seaside fishing village/town, fishing boats on the beach, plenty of places to eat, pubs, some nice shops and some great fresh fish! You can also walk along the beach path (cycleable) intpo Thorpness (1.5 miles) that has a very large boating lake opposite the sea, and just a couple of pubs and eating establishements.
Note that the site does not allow tents of any description, however awnings are allowed (its something to do with the licensing).
Had the bonus of sunshine all weekend!
regards,
Eddy

we missed out on the fish and chips as both of the shops had queues like a bad day on the M25! did however manage some local kippers in the aldeburgh market cafe - delicious!.
not sure if you have done southwold much before, I can recommend lunch in the nelson, dinner in the crown or the fish and chips in the harbour inn (was still served in paper last time i ate there!) washed down with some adnams broadside!
hope the sun shines for you, enjoy,
reagrads,

Theres always a queue at the chippie thats why its soooo good but will need to try the kippers.
We know Southwold and that coastline very well, the Nelson is my 'Country Local' The only dissapointing thing about the campsite is it is council run and the facilties are always a bit ropey. But Broadside, fish and chips and a bit of crabbing in Walberswick make it all worthwhile. Will keep you posted on how we get on.
yes it probably would have been around pitch 6 and the colour of the camper (from your profile picture) looks to be right. we will definetly be returning so hope get opportunity to speak some time, not sure if we will manage though before it closes in oct for the season.
