| Whoops! Looks like I fell into the trap of posting a few questions before actually introducing myself; how uncouth! This is Colin - he was actually a surprise birthday present for my wife earlier this year. The series of clandestine exploits to keep his acquirement (and arrival) a secret for almost a year is a story in itself - not to mention the exploits leading up to the grand unveiling on the big day! As you can see from the before-and-after pictures, Colin's history means some of you have probably already driven him! I requested the changes before taking delivery - I only ever saw him like that in photos! Since the second photo (just after getting him) I have tinted the windows, added some very minor red detailing, a mesh sunvisor and some great chrome handles and mirrors. I must get around to posting an updated picture! Having already experienced much mad waving from similar drivers over the Summer, and having had a good look around this friendly forum, I can genuinely say we feel honoured to now be part of this community - it really is one of several, totally unexpected, side-effects of owning Colin. | Hi and welcome! Does Colin live in Jersey? Mr Bumble and I spent our honey moon in Jersey and Guernsey on bikes....we must go back sometime with Bumble.....seem to remember campervans werent allowed before ? | |

Hi. Yes we are Jersey based. Not wishing to age you, but things have changed somewhat! Not sure if campervans were ever banned, but I believe caravans and motorhomes were. These days, (almost) anything goes. There are restrictions to length of stay if not in recognised camping sites, but there are lots of local motorhomes regularly parked up overlooking certain beaches at the weekends. They are way too big for us to mix with, so we keep away and use our local knowledge of quieter spots to go for a gentle beer! ________________________________________________________________________________ [img] [/img] | |
