Well that's what we can offer you - doo read on if you are interested.

We have registered our interest with the organisers in showcasing our Club at CarFest North 2016.
They have subsequently invited us to be a part of this year’s events taking place over 29th - 31st July 2016.

To cut out a lot of the 'blurb' at present here are the essential details you will need to know.

The cost for our Club pitch at this year’s event is £650 + VAT (ie. total of £780.00) and highlighted below is what this package will include:

· Space for five vehicles at this show - it's a three day show to the public.
· Two weekend wristbands per vehicle giving you a total of 10 wristbands per club.
· A direct donation of 20% of the pitch price going straight to BBC Children in Need.
· The structure of the stand will include a 3m x 3m marquee with a bench and parasol.
· Access to everything that CarFest North has to offer throughout the weekend*.

*Doo look on thier website to see all that is on and the live bands playing on the three evenings.

They can also offer Club camping pitches at a size of 6m x 9m which can hold up to an average of two 4 man tents.
There are two options available within the campsite which is listed below:

· £150 + VAT for the standard 6m x 9m pitch.
· £200 + VAT for a 6m x 9m pitch with a power hook up.

We would need to get back to the organisers with vehicle details etc. and then they would discuss it further before coming back to us to see if we are successful.

The price of £78.00 for access to the three day show and all it can offer is well below the price to the public (price based upon 10 people and 5 Kombis) - see their website for further details.

We certainly enjoyed Carfest South last year and this July version looks very similar to the one in August.

We're up for it, we normally camp at a country fair that weekend but looked at your link and it looks great.. how soon would you know if we are accepted so we dont miss out on either camping weekend.

Thank you for your interest and prompt reply.
Unfortunately, they have not indicated any time scales at all.
The honest answer is therefore that we do not know at this time.
On past experience we are not sure that raising a question with them will receive a prompt reply either, but we shall ask the question.
If you have time critical dates then you will need to make a decision on the available information.
Hopefully if we get enough interest we can get back to them sooner rather than later and then get some more info/feedback.
Will post any further info as we receive it.

Thanks Scooby. Having read the info about the sleeping arrangements i.e. tents only, I'll have to use the words of Duncan Bannatyne: "I'm oot"!

The quick reply we have just received from the organisers on timing is as follows:

"We will be able to have a look into your application relatively quickly as we have only just started signing clubs up for the show".

Not really conclusive, but what more can we say!

So it is over to you guys out there.

If there is enough support we can make our application and they can look at it "relatively quickly".

We're interested still...we have a teardrop caravan, do you know if we're able to use that to sleep in instead of a tent?

It appears at present as though it will need to be a tent - best to work on that basis for now.
If things change later then perhaps look on it as a bonus!
Do not think the display area and the camping are close to each other any way.

Just had a look at the North's web site, looks a good weekend.

Just a couple of questions.

1/ when you wrote the following...

They can also offer Club camping pitches at a size of 6m x 9m which can hold up to an average of two 4 man tents.
There are two options available within the campsite which is listed below:

· £150 + VAT for the standard 6m x 9m pitch.
· £200 + VAT for a 6m x 9m pitch with a power hook up.

It does say on their new website the following...

Campervan / Caravan Field A - this is about a 10 minute walk to the entrance of the Festival site.  All plots will be provided with a power hook-up and access to showers, toilets and on site catering in the adjacent campsite. Your car will be parked in the general car park.
       The cost of a permit in Campervan / Caravan Field A is £85 (includes power hook-up)

Campervan / Caravan Field B - is about a 20 minute walk to the entrance of the Festival site.  All plots will be provided with a power hook-up but there are NO facilities with the exception of cold water and a place to empty your waste.  You must only stay on this site if you are self sufficient for toilets, showers etc. If your car can fit into your 9m x 6m plot, then it can be parked alongside. If it doesn’t fit into the plot it will be parked in a different area adjacent to the site.
        The cost of a permit in Campervan / Caravan Field B is £70 (includes power hook-up)

Note: You must buy a permit if you wish to bring a caravan, motorhome, campervan, sleep-in vehicle or trailer tent.  The space you are allocated in both fields is 9m x 6m.  You will need a permit for every campervan/caravan you wish to bring to the festival.


So, are we expected to camp in the club camping if we go onto the club stand? or are we/you/all of the 10 people on the stand ok to camp in caravan A OR B field if they have another way to camp eg caravan or teardrop etc, (which we have).

2/ As we've not been on a club stand before, so are unaware whats expected. Are the Kombi's we put on there purely to push awareness of the club?... or, as i am starting to sell a few Kombi's, am i/ we ok to sell on the stand as well?

By the way Abs, we looked at glamping there. If we rented something like your glawning, its a touch over £500 for three days for a basic setup.

Bit steep for me, Tim. I'm not that much of a petrol head.

Thanks for your continued interest.

All of the camping on the website is for the general public and is not for exhibitors.
All prices, instructions and comments etc. are for the general public and not exhibitors.
They have already sold some places to the general public and they will be selling more in the spring.
They typically go on sale on a weekday at 8.00am and are sold out very quickly (less than an hour in the past).
You cannot be guaranteed to get any tickets.

The idea of "Club" camping is for the "Motoring Clubs" to have guaranteed camping available to them if they so desire, albeit in tents in a dedicated exhibitors area. Our previous comments hopefully make more sense now.

The idea of the Club stand is really all about awareness and promoting the club. We are not there to sell anything. There would typically be a rota so everyone can go and enjoy the show and be on the stand as well - as with other shows such as say Volksworld. The benefit to us for offering a club display is that we get in cheaper!

Realistically, 5 Kombis/10 people are needed to make it work in our opinion.
Until we get to at least that level of interest it will, we would suggest, not be progressing any further.
Hence the call for interest.

Well we're still up for it anyway. This forum has been great for me. The advice is second to none and as I dont get the chance to give something back really. We'd love to go and fly the Clubs flag.
So put us down for one Kombi and two people please.

We will be letting the organisers know next week unless there is a sudden influx of interest.

Ok, what a shame, let us know the final outcome when you know and i think it looks a great weekend anyway so well attempt to get some tickets when they are released.

This is slap bang in the middle of the Kaper to Biarritz, which doesn't help .....

Have now advised the organisers they will not have the pleasure of a Kombi display at this event!
