Rupert's Debut

It was on November 8th in 1920 that Rupert Bear did first appear.
We doo not expect anyone to remember that day, that much is clear.  

But perhaps a memory or two of Rupert and his Nutwood friends doo last.
Scooby has many fond memories of Rupert Annuals from his own past.

A little bear and his chums having adventures all told in ryhme what fun.
The stories maybe a little naughty, but you could not just read one.

If you have them, share your memories of this little bear.

What annuals did you collect?

In the early 1970s when I was 11 or 12 and with a keen interest in Origami I knew Rupert drawer Alfred Bestall (he was president of the British Origami Society). He came to our house for tea once and drew me a Rupert and signed it. I wish I still had it

FAB story - shame you doo not have it now.

Guess it's like everything though, at the time (or even a little later) we either all throw such things away or they get lost!
