That's probably good advice Martin, but there might not have been too many of us on the grid. My former CEO used to say "to ask permission is to beg denial". I'm not saying that's good advice, but it never did him any harm! We're just going to be careful and assume that we are on the track at our own risk, which is probably what our insurers would have said.

I completely agree Alan. As long as those taking part are aware of the risks involved no one should have an issue. I do wonder though how members would feel if someone (a child maybe) was injured through something innocuous and insurers refused to indemnify the person causing an injury. 

If I had my professional hat on, I'd be advising my client to make sure cover was in place.

I recall somebody planning to organise a car treasure hunt as a fundraiser for our children's school. They thought it would be a good idea to check with the police to see if they needed permission. They were told that it was an on-road motorsport event, and that they needed to pay for a police presence, ask the local council to arrange road closures and diversions, provide marshals and appropriate signage, and ensure that all participants were properly insured!

Yep, I've organised those by speaking to the police, in the past (they didn't ask for a police presence though) - I think the law has changed but, in any event, I seem to recall that it depended on how many cars were involved.

I don't think it's a true comparison though, Alan.

Yep let's get some perspective here please chaps, we're going to be led around the track by an official from Goodwood, we're in campervans, not race machines and I for one certainly don't want my paintwork scratched!!

Hey all - just realised our satnav is in Morrison's glove compartment - not so helpful as Morrison is still languishing down at Danbury (hopefully back soon:bounce: ). Plan is to see you all at Devil's Punch Bowl and try and get some shots of the convoy on the road. Would anybody by any chance have a spare sat nav we could use - we do have phones and OS maps of the route - so not critical - but we'd hate to lose you all. Thank you.

Lose a convoy of brightly coloured Kombis - no chance!

Can you travel up and down the line of Kombis (if safe to do so) whilst driving the route as well take some pics on the bends, from bridges, from ahead of the Kombi Konvoy, from behind the Kombi Konvoy - too much?

But seriously, any pics of the day would be really greatly appreciated

Tallulah is ready!

Despite a slight electrical issue discovered on Thursday, everything has now been checked and tested and she is ready to roll.

Also checked the fluid levels and tyre pressures and connected the my wifi ECU connecting thingy to check for any codes etc and switched her into performance mode*.

She has been packed (essentials only to reduce excess weight) polished (reduces drag) and is now poised on the drive ready for some fun tomorrow.

*performance mode only changes the layout of the dials on the iPad screen and doesn't actually do anything to the ECU, but I didn't mention that to Tallulah!

Our Lady bug got a good clean and polish too and is ready for some convoy herding.

@scooby we're planning on hitting the road around 8am and have decided to take a route along the A329 so don't be surprised if you get buzzed by orange and white streaks!
