That's so '80s .... ever heard of a microfibre towel?? Much better. A tradition handed from father to son. Sometime in the early 80's, when either, he felt I could be trusted not to drop the sponge in the dirt and apply to the paint work or when he felt my primary school didn't give me enough homework!

M Trip to Paul Brand booked. Not a problem with the stainless steel part of the exhaust, but further back towards the engine (before the cat). P.

| Basic service. Though I need to by HT stuff. Mines looking threadbare.
Also, I bought an oil strainer 14.5mm that didn't fit. The tube in the centre sump wouldn't fit into the strainer. There seems to be 14.5mm and 18mm strainers. Anyone know what that measurement refers to and is it the pipe size? ________________________________________________________________________________ I am an Engineer. I will fix this!

| Funnily enough, Alison has spent the day with her daughter, who's been having one of her practical exams in Manchester. She's doing a beauty course and Mrs B has been her client for the day.
Lots of waxing has taken place... ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| (Actually yesterday)
Took Tallulah on a midweek cruise to see Paul Brand for a service, timing belt and new front brake pads. Scooby was up on the ramp when we arrived, having his leak sorted.
Collecting T again later, weather looks good so might take the long way home and enjoy the drive for a bit longer! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

I believe it is recommended at 5 years with 'average' mileage. Yours is well below average where Tallulah is now in her 6th year (she was 5 in Feb) and has covered 75k km. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

Ours has only done about 23k miles but is 5 years old. 4 years for a 1.4 Fox, some dispute about mileage, but around 75,000 km. I've done 134,000 km and 6 years old and changed cambelt twice. I believe the engine is termed 'interference' which means if the cambelt goes the pistons hit the valves which means a top end rebuild, so worth doing earlier rather than later. (Learnt from experience on another car, hence the over-caution.)
