Grille or DWC

Olive in DWC mode

Olive in Grille mode, depends on the mood what mode she will have for the day.

Its my speaker box, I fitted a radio and rather than put the speakers in the door panels I made a box (wife decorated it with the Kath Kidston paper) fitted the speakers and it sits nicely on the dash, being up there the sound quality is superb.

Thanks Tiggy, the interior is mad. There is nothing wrong with a change now and then.............it keeps things interesting

olive.. would like to see your interiors now mine are rather standard apart from some cool accessories and sound

To be in DWC mode or not?
Both look good in different ways
We cannot leave off the spare wheel with out leaving an unsightly support bracket
Does it take you long to switch from one to the other and vice versa
Our spare wheel cover on the front is easy to remove but a nightmare to fit back

Hi Scooby,

Not at all, all there is are four screws so unscrew off and screw on...simples

The DWC is actually very light it made out of fibreglass and the steel perforated disc.

Sorry Tiggy wasnt avoiding your request, just got back from Jersey on business but glad to see Kiteman sorted it for you. I did say it was mad

I've revisited this topic to see if anyone had any performance related experience from running both grille and DWC - in terms of cooling/overheating issues?

I've recently bought a water cooled panel fan and cant help but think that the smaller mesh in the DWC fitted to it will not provide as much air intake as the standard louvred grille that VW would have spent some time designing to perform as efficiently as possible?
