However their delivery costs are pricey - £7.20 for something that costs £3.99!

You've got a Classic gearknob there Tilly! Surely you'll be needing the gearshift pattern sticker on your ashtray then?

Not being the driver i couldnt be 100% sure but i think we also have a plain one like Tilly. As you have an old van Tim i suspect it might be the case of us newer vans having the cheaper option as standard.

Im proud of my knob and whist i didnt have a peek at yours tim in your van, im sure older ones look as nice and work just as well!!!(sorry couldnt resist!)

Ive noticed some have balls on? Does anyone know if the originals just screw off or are they glued?

Should all be screw on - you wouldn't want your knob coming off at a tricky moment.

Sounds like the sort of thing worthy paying £4 for but not £11.20, so I'd be in.

Just checked a photo of a 2011 Kombi. It's got the same gearknob as my '04 BraziBay.

Very mysterious, and a little odd. I suggest we get scooby and his friends on to the great gearknob switch. They'll get to the bottom of it.

We have an 8 ball on our gearstick, it just screwed on. Got it from ebay from a guy that do pretty much any thread you want and has a list of the most common ones to choose from. We chose the 8 ball as it was always up to luck whether we got the right gear before we fitted the empi!

Thanks. I will have to have a look around on ebay or at one of the next shows I go to. Simple but effective and its nice to be a little different. Is the empi straight forward to fit too?

It's a piece of cake take old one off with two bolts, bolt empi on a little adjustment back and forth and your ready to go.
