Sea Barn Farm - Fleet nr Weymouth Empty
PostSubject: Sea Barn Farm - Fleet nr Weymouth   Sea Barn Farm - Fleet nr Weymouth EmptyWed Jul 06, 2011 11:41 am

Stayed at Sea Barn Farm a few weeks ago so thought would write a review.

The site is medium in size but is made up of smaller fields which makes it feel like a small site. The toilet lock was finished to a very high standard and ws kept very clean to a very good standard. There is also family bathrooms which we found fantsctic have a little on with us. The site has electric and all the electric pitches were flat wich was good. If you went without electric you would need blocks to level the van. There was an on site shop selling essentials but did have limited opening times. There was a fantastic walk around the owners land and where they train thier race horses. There was a play area for children but it was small. There was plenty of room around for children to run round and play and even the odd BBQ.

Approximatly half a mile away is West Fleet barn the sister site, here has a heaed outdoor pool and bar and family game room. which you are able to use included in the price of your site. It is easliy walkable but if going at night a torch would be advisable.

Nearby is the town of Weymouth with all the attractions of a seaside town. It has a great beach and good parking for a bay (if not a little pricey) the older port area and Fort Nothe were really nice there is a really nice fish and chip resuraunt on the dock side (oldest in Weymouth) that served beautiful fish and chips while you watch the boats and world go by. Going out of town the other way there is a small theme park for kids a sealife type centre and pirate cove mini golf and a family pub with a huge car park that is a good day out fo the family.

A day out to Portland is a must at the top of portland there is a nice picninc area with views over portland and Weymouth, then there is the lighthouse at Portland that has a lot of history and a visitors centre that is very informative, if not its a great place to just sit back and relax with a cuppa.

The site overlooks Moonfleet manor which is in the book Moonfleet many will probably know and it is possible to walk to it from the site. The one thing about the site is the views these were stuning especially a sthe sun was setting and in my opinion worth every penny of the site fee. The site would make a good site for a possible venue for a future brazilian sleepover. I not one to go back to a site as like to try new ones and explore new areas but this is definatly one i will be returning to. The only negative thing i could say is the access to the site is not the best but more than passable (im probably just being a bit picky now). Prices vary but at the moment the have a 7 nghts for the price of 6 offer. Hope this is of use.
