Speculation and gossip abound - this story was in last week's Autoexpress and is now spilling around the web. Looks like the new Microbus will be built in the US as previously planned and platform share with a couple of other VW models built there.
Click here to read the story.
If it turns out like the pic below .... I'll have one of those please to accompany Max.

Very nice, but don't know whether I'd get rid of Dizzy just to get one, I'll just have to keep doing the Lottery and hope! Whilst you were on the link did you look at the Summer v Winter tyres video? Very interesting.

Yes dizzy - watched the vid. I'd ask the question - is there any value to having summer tyres on our vehicles at all? Why not just drive on winter tyres all year round?

The blus bus in the article doesn't look anywhere near big enough to be converted into a camper. No much bigger than a family estate car by the looks of it. Just has a higher roof.

The article mentions it being based on the passat, so guessing it wouldn't be big enough for a camper conversion. Don't like it anyway I'm afraid, just another people carrier...................

The Passat in the US is longer than it is in Europe - the chassis is stretched. So a new Microbus would be about the same length as our T2s.
