I found it quite easy; drove to Danbury, gave them the keys, had coffee(s), paid. Job done Very Happy

(As a DIY, I have no idea how hard it would be but didn't fancy pulling out the headlining and cutting appropriate holes therein. Good luck with the project.)

Hi. I looked at doing this but never did it. There is a cross brace running from both door pillars which I understand the Danbury's DVD player mounts to.

Having never seen how they mount to this I gave up as did not fancy screwing or welding to the brace.

Installed mine in the buddy seat underside instead.

I've had a dash mounted DVD for years in my BraziBay. These Halfords Ripspeed units work very well and are as simple to fit as a normal car radio. For the price they are a relative bargain.

Not really a fan of a perminently fitted DVD player, too much temptation on display for any light fingered individuals and quite a lot of damaged could be caused trying to get it out.

That's why we opted for a fully portable DVD/Freeview unit that we take with us when we feel the need (not that often) and packs neatly away out of sight when not in use. That also means it can be used elsewhere too, ie, our other vehicle, garage, shed, garden etc.

We have MEOS model MEOS-DVD113B that cost around £190 (in July 2011) with no fitting costs or issues!

We use a free standing unit - 19 inch screen with built in DVD player that's hidden away when not in use.
To watch, it stands on the sink top at an angle - just right for two in the seated position

Are we talking DVD here or to include a TV? Wouldn't a laptop be adequate to watch DVDs, albeit without the sound through all the speakers?

Interesting. I was thinking of having a TV fitted next year but the idea of a stand alone unit appeals. What is the TV reception like? Does the unit have a built in aerial ?

We have the same dashboard mounted DVD/cd/ radio as mentioned by Tim, which works really well. It has an additional DVD outlet which we plug into a potable DVD player so you can have two screens running showing the same film. I was also given a Nextbase digital tv unit that only has a 7 inch screen but generally works quite well, and can run off 240v or 12v dc and can be packed away safely.
