Want to buy a Last Edition direct from Brazil?

An ad came up on my Facebook page just now that linked to what appeared to be a genuine Volkswagen do Brasil page about the Last Edition.  On that page there is a tab with the words 'I'd like to buy it.'  Clicking on this then brings up a new window for you to fill in your details.  It states that 'The sale and export of your Volkswagen Bus will be handled by Cotia Trading.'  I've looked them up and again, they seem genuine.

Taking a longer look at the pictures I like the way they have done the curtains with the chrome pole top and bottom. Let us know how you get on, might actually see one for real!!!

As you say Tim, looks genuine, but couldn't help having a wry smile to myself when I saw 'Cotia Trading'..........had visions of Del-Boy translating 'Kosher' into Portuguese.

Definitely like those curtains and poles. Wonder how easy to retrofit something like that...

Sunny - they should be easy - someone with sewing skills could knock those up

When I fitted the bars to the window the main problem I had were the screw heads coming off which was a bit of a nightmare. The bars are still on

That way, we will be able to present you a proforma invoice with CIF prices for the VW Kombi Last Edition.]

We must have a payment and signed contract until march 14 so that we don’t incur in any risk of having to cancel a possible export.

It all seems genuine.

FOB means Free On Board - which is a shipping term.

$28300 at today's rate equates to £16929.  Add to this a couple of grand for shipping and insurance, then the import duty of 20% VAT and you'd be looking at around £25000 for a Last Edition.  Anyone fancy ordering one?

And you will be responsible for converting to UK road regulations if you want to insure and tax it for use in the uk, otherwise you can only look at it.

Import duty would be 10% of purchase price and shipping costs then VAT of 20% is payable on the import duty , purchase price and shipping costs.. So would be another £2500 on anticipated costs... Then you'll just need a friendly Customs clearance agent to clear it through Customs for you... I think I could recommend one 2014-03-08 

The offer is definitely genuine as I've now been contacted by Volkswagen do Brasil to make sure I'm aware the Last Edition won't be warranted or given any technical support by them outside of Brazil.

How many members have we got Tim? - let's all club together and take it in turns to use it.

Sounds a bargain (if its real) . Saying you MUST pay by the 14th is all a bit strange don't you think?? Go careful guys, if anyone wants advice just PM me :-)

£38 for 1/730th.... So it's ours for about 1/2 a day per year....

Ok so if a Last Edition were available - purely as a 9 seater - I think it's important to maintain its authenticity - would Club folk here be interested in renting it for excursions, events?

Lol! Husband lost his £1 on the horse that fell at the second fence. I'd predicted it would fall at the first, so glad I didn't bet on it.

Was looking good had the winner in the first and a place in the second but then put the winnings on Hurricane Fly , who didn't fly today!!! Just my luck... Good job I only have a bet at Cheltenham and the National really...

No huge losses luckily. And a lesson learnt not to take 'dead cert' tips from the 'expert' on Radio 4!   

I would certainly rent it out. Not sure what I would do - probably just pose and grin ! YOLO
