| I'm being super organised and getting all the essentials sorted for the trip. The one thing missing is headlight beam converters. This may be a silly question but can I buy these off the peg from Halfords or do they need to be specific for a T2? | |

| You can buy them off the shelf and just use the part you need. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Do not buy them from Halfords! Total rip off. Buy them off eBay for a fraction of the price. Search eurolite beam converters. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| You can get the whole kit - headlight beam adjusters, breathalysers, spare bulbs and GB sticker - on eBay for less than Halfords sell the beam adjusters.
Just replaced our beam adjusters as we already have the other bits from last year. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Just ordered them from Ebay. As you say pennies rather than ££'s. Eddies previous owners handed over their European bits and bobs so with a couple of supplements we're all sorted now. | |

| A colleague has offered me the use of their bell tent to take on the Kaper. It would be taken instead of the Kyham but my concern is the size. It's a 5 metre version which when I paced out in the garden seems very large. The question is are the pitch sizes on French campsites on the large side and able to take the bell tent and Kombi? Is it possible to find out how large our pitches will be at Interlude? | |

| hh- my worry would be how hot it would be inside. Our Glawning is a 4m and it's surprising how much bigger the 5m ones are in comparison.
I'm sure Happyhouse will be along soon to let us know what size theirs is. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Good point about the heat. We're so used to camping in this country that it didn't occur to me about the temperature in France. | |

| Our large bell tent is 4m. Not sure on size of pitches booked but you also need to bear in mind guy ropes on either side and perhaps a canopy as well. | |

I know I'm answering an old post but we have taken our van from Scotland to lake Como in Italy. We went via Calais then drove about 4 hours into France for an overnight stop then one stop in Swizerland (at Sursee) then down into Italy via the san Gottard tunnel. You pay a road tax called a vignette in Swizerland, cheaper bought in advance. The main roads in Italy are fine. The drivers of course are mental and best just ignored. There are numerous good guides on the alternative routes if you google around. ps: In the UK we stopped at Cambridge. | |

| We're going to hire bikes there this year to save room in the kombi as we don't have a bike rack. I'm guessing they're going to be pretty essential for getting around the island...one little problem...I need to learn to ride first!!! Obviously a deprived child | |
