Which insurance company are people happy with?
Does anybody think the oven addition is a good idea and where does it go?
Anyone know of a good mechanic in Warwickshire?
Is there any storage under the seat?
Will the roof come down with memory foam on the upper bed?

Only paid deposit yesterday. Delivery mid/ late June and lots of questions buzzing round my head.

Welcome to the forum Als

1. Do a Search for "Insurance" Use the search bar at the top of the site

2. If your going to use it then Yes it's a good idea

3. Sorry No

4. Depends on the layout and what extras you have, but yes you can lift the rear seat to store stuff

5. Depends how thick the foam is but probably not, there's only about 3-4cm of room.

Have a good nose around the site, there's a Ton of info on here. Use the search bar at the top of the page.
Will be well worth you coming along to the Sleepover if you can, you can have a really good look at what others have done and pick our brains of questions you have.

Great news that you will be joining the club with your very own kombi in a month or so, and all very good and valid questions.

As per the answers above, use the search functions to find the answers, but here is a bit more info:

1) Lots of discussion on this one and it's always subjective since the price is based on a number of personal factors including mileage, location and overnight parking. A number of members have had very good quotes from Comfort Insurance, but there are several other key providers and some will match your lowest quote. Have a good read through the 'extras' they provide, i.e., cover per personal items etc.

2) Some owners have ovens but I wouldn't say that it is a particularly common option. It replaces the cupboard space immediately below the hob/grill so you end up with less storage overall. Depending on which layout you have chosen, this may or may not be an issue.

3) Someone who knows the area better may be able to help here.

4) Yes, quite a bit actually. We tend to keep all of our external camping items under here, hook-up lead, levelling blocks and chocks, a picnic blanket, table tripod and leg. It will probably already have the wheel brace, jack and warning triangle in there, we've also added a set of jump leads. It's all stuff that we tend to use/need on arrival at a camp site rather than at some point later once the bed has been made up making that area more difficult to access.

5) If you mean the mattress that comes as part of the roof bed conversion, then no. Something thinner might, but not a lot of space once the bed is folded and the roof is down. We have a folded blanket that lives up there just to help stop the bed board moving the bolt that holds the board in place tends to work loose over time.

If you are in the Warwickshire area then you can't be that far from Banbury where we are holding our annual club event. There should be in excess of 50 Brazilian campers there and no two are the same so plenty of inspiration to be had!

Hi. Thankyou both for your comprehensive responses. We shall indeed aim to stop by at Banbury, probably on the Saturday, and hope to pick up tips there.

Hi and welcome, not sure about the above as we don't have bed boards, but a catalogue came from Towsure today, and noticed these which may be of interest, (like the idea of a memory foam sleeping bag, they also do a 2.5cm topper) Smile
