| I particularly dislike an ad that uses a damaged Kombi to portray its wares. Says a lot about the seller imo. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| I ordered one anyway. I'm not proud, and it will look a lot better on our van than on their advert. | |

Truth be told I got fed up with looking at it and noticed nobody actually used it. Seemed a bit pointless. Forgot to bring it to the sleepover and now just want it gone. It's clutter.

Saw a (ratty) split and a T5 with fully adjustable hydraulic suspension while at Vdub Island, both were top 10 Show n Shine. Both slammed when on display or parked, both up,on stilts to get on/off of the camping field. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| I've got the step fitted now. It was pretty easy, the only tricky thing was aligning with the holes in the jacking points to get the fixing bolts through. I used a smaller bolt to get the alignment right before fitting the supplied bolt. I also started the bolts off by hand so as to make sure that they were threaded properly before finishing off with the socket set. The bolts are going into aluminium threads, so if you start off cross-threaded and use too much force you might strip the thread.
The instructions advise against over-tightening. I haven't got a torque wrench, so I trusted to what felt right. I'll check it again once I've had it on the road for a while.
My van is already lowered, so it's probably not much help in getting in and out of the van, but it looks really cool! Now I need to remember to keep a 12mm spanner in the van in case I need to change a wheel any time.

| Scooby is lowered and has the side step too! We have never used it gain access - stood a bottle/can or two on it though. We think it is just one of those extras that look cool. Plenty of things in/around Scooby that may not be practical, but we like them. We doo have the clear lenses and side repeaters too! - . One thing to consider is that it uses the jacking points as the location. so given the problem we had with removing the bolt kind of concerned that if it corrodes and seizes when we are out and about and we get a flat we could be a bit stuck ?...and it is additional weight . so now we are not rushing to put it back on.
Yep, took mine off and gave it to Daz for just that reason.

| That was the worry Jules had when we found out about the jack point location. As our bus isn't lowered we do need a step, so will see how we get on with it. At least we're not spending £300+. | |
