Keeping the forum tidy Empty
PostSubject: Keeping the forum tidy   Keeping the forum tidy EmptyWed Oct 06, 2010 12:52 am

Hey, it's great to see so much banter going on around the site. I hope it's proving useful to you.

Can I make a couple of requests?

1. When you use the 'quote' function it's often not necessary to include the entire post that someone has written that you are replying to. Once you've hit the quote function you can edit the other person's text so you just keep the bits in that you are responding to. Can I encourage you to do this please? It makes for a less cluttered look.

2. We have a limited storage space for 'Attachments' so adding photos as attachments needlessly uses up that space. It's really for documents and the like. Using the 'host an image' function uses no storage on the forum as the file is stored elsewhere on the web. If you have difficulty hosting an image, use the attachment function and then pm either me or kiteman and we'll sort the hosting for you and then delete the attachment.

I hope that makes sense - thanks in advance for your help with this.

Tim

A quick addition to this topic - please make use of the link function (it's to the right of the 2 image icons in the toolbar) when linking to another site. Inserting long hyperlinks can result in stretching the forum page width-wise so folks have to scroll left and right to see stuff.

It's easy to use, you copy the hyperlink into your buffer, click the 'Insert a Link' icon, paste your buffered link into the top box that's appeared and then type a brief description in the lower box. Then hit 'Insert' - appreciate your help with this.  Basketball
