Hi,

Do you have a Water-Cooled or Air-cooled Brazilian?

If its an Air-cooled then I have some vast experience of the Air-cooled engine and MOT emission problems. Happy to help, please ask any questions.

Please feel free to visit my Blog for details of my emission problems and Service and Diagnostic manuals on my Blog. Links below.

Steve

Corrosion in the ECU?? I've never heard of that one!!! How on earth did that occur? I'd understand an ECU fault if a positive charge had accidentally been put across the ECU body, we've had that before. But not corrosion ...... Question Question Question

I can't work how an earth an ECU could get corroded and if it was damaged surely you'd have a non starter on your hands.
I would question that diagnosis JackieC.

Hi. I had a faulty ecu. I managed to get a replacement and sent my old one for repair. The bill to repair was x2.5 the cost of replacement.

This was the major cause of my emissions failures. The ecu was not corroded but had a faulty signal ground on the lambda sensor.
Let me know if you need the details of the Brazilian supplier of ecu.
