| "Today my BraziBay will be mostly 2007 - which is nice" (Yes I've just finished a long stretch at work - I've got the next 7 days off - and I'm on the red wine ) ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Not sure, can't really make my mind up ( no change there then I hear my good lady say), think it would be the 2007, but would have to see the 2010 painted first.....

| It does seem rather big and I have wondered that myself. In saying that though people are getting overheating problems still. On the RHD conversion half of the space behind the rad, where the fan goes is lost as the peddles have to be fitted in that space, so you do get a reduction in airflow.
The middle part of the rad sits behind the bodywork whereas the edges stick out, don't know if it's possible to mount the rad further back to get it to sit behind the bodywork. Another way would be to fit an oil cooler to help with the engine temp, and then try and fit a smaller rad.
Max on the forum was looking at doing something similar by fitting a custom grille, but don't know how he got on. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van

Hmm . . . Nice idea . . . but those memories of my air-cooled engine 'problems' will take a long time to fade and I'm very conscious of mpg figures at present . . . but thanks for the idea Hi there. 37mpg My van is for sale ... ________________________________________________________________________________ Ex-Brazilian, T5 driver

| On the grill(e) debate, we may be missing the most important point: which version is the easiest to get dead insects off of? | |

| Best thing is to wax the hell out it, bugs come off a lot easier. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van | |

| Hey chaps,
I've not got any further with my grill design, but have fitted a 2011 style (I think that's the same as the 2010 style) radiator grill. Was thinking of painting it white in line with my Bay and leave it be.
I have not given up on the idea of an own design, but need to work on my motorbike at present. Oh, why do those weekends go by so fast?

| Technically the newer grille should be easier to clean as its a smoother grain finish.....I use diamond bright 6 year polish on mine to help stop them sticking so much. | |

| Any good wax. I prefer Diamond Brite as it satys on longer or Auto Glym (new car polish) is good too. | |
