Kombi says hello!

Hi all,

Glad to be on board! My family had VW Kombis since I can remember, first a T25, then a T4, and now I've bought a Brazil Kombi myself. I absolutely love it!

I got it pretty much raw, and then asked Paul from Abletrim to tailor some covers to my own design. I also built a 'kitchen cube' with sink/hob inside. I like things very minimal and clean, as you can see

Looks cool.....very cool like the colour combo of your front seats and upholstery. The 'cube' looks great.

Very nice, Love the upholstery colour scheme...Think that lovely clean carpet would last 2 minutes in my van…

Haha, yes, the carpet isn't that clean while out camping! I'll probably get a lino floor in the near future, but got the carpet for £20, so went for that for now. It's nice when you're bare feet

Like the minimal look, not much to worry about when it comes to cleaning at all.

Bet the carpet is nice and warm on the toes as well, might have to get myself underfloor heating now

I have a couple of future plans, keeping it minimal, however
- white indicators
- custom laser cut front grill cover from stainless steel
- maybe lowering it (it gets blown about on the motorway at the moment – any experience here?)
- adding a heater of some sort so I can ditch my gloves and scarf (any advice?)
- maybe adding a set of speakers to hum along to some tunes

The bed is from Volkswares.co.uk - lovely bunch of people. It's cheap (just over £200) and good quality, but the instructions are rubbish I just built it by trial & error.

Hi luvin the seat re trim my bay is lowered bit better in cross wind but still get hit by wind.I have Danbury fitted websco works very well in front not so well in back in the winter

I think your ride is crying out for a racing stripe - in the blue of the seats - in the same width as those on your seats - to run from off centre front, over the top and down the back. Simple but very effective. Then when you get it lowered it will be incredible.

Tim, that's so funny, that's exactly why I put those stripes on the cushions – so that I could complement them with blue racing stripes outside

All part of the service dude. Now which alloys will you be going for?

I love the old Porsche style wheels... but then I guess I have to see more to make up my mind. Is there a meeting coming up of any sort?

To get a good idea of mixing up Brazilian T2s with alloys and colour variations, the gallery on Danbury's website is very useful.

Nice, peppa does have some great alloys. I checked them out. Definitely a good choice!

I guess the less rubber on the wheels, the better they look with these sort of alloys. And the added bonus is that it does a bit of 'free' lowering

Oh i wouldnt say that Tilly. Not only am i barefaced and proud, i also look down on the lowly uneducated from up high.

well, I have got pretty used to having the clearance of a tractor with the wind exposure surface of a cruise ship...

I am with you on this one Tilly, keep it as original as possible is my preference.

But maybe paint those steelys white - with banded tyres??!!

White wheels but no banded tyres maybe orange
