There is also Danbury's Direct Drive which includes rack and pinion steering. If you want both power steering and rack and pinion, the other option is Red9 with Litesteer.

I'd be interested to know if you'd be able to get a Direct Drive PAS system from Danbury now .... their T2 ops seem to be on a slim down.

We had the Danbury Direct Drive system fitted.
It does actually seem to work pretty well and is adjustable so you can have more or less help for motorways, or tight parking for example.
It is quite expensive though (about £4000), but as we use ours everyday and have to parallel park etc we went for it.
However, I have to say beware anything Danbury! I personally wouldn’t use them for anything again, unless I really had to!
Sorry, had lots of problems (not with the powered steering though)

I have Direct Drive in mine, which was fitted by the previous owners, I get on fine with this but I did test drive one with a different power steering and I didn't get on with it, for me it reacted really slowly and I found myself overcorrecting and ending up snaking along the road! Maybe it would be worth test driving some if you can?

I wanted Litesteer & Red9 but just couldn't justify the money. Went with just the Litesteer. Amazing difference! Speed sensitive so no need to adjust. The rack and pinion would have been nice but maybe some othertime. Litesteer worth every penny & Neil & the guys did some other mods for me at the same time. Can't recomend enough.

I know what lucyhc means about snaking along the road. This can happen if the Direct Drive is set to high, but all you have to do to correct on the Direct Drive system is just turn the dial on the dashboard more or less to suit :-)
