| Hey,
I'm looking for a bit of advice. After the weekend away we are thinking of buying an awning for the van for festivals or quick weekends. Does anyone have any good experiences with any. Don't want to spend loads as using our tent most the time. With a baby and puppy the space it tight.
Cheers

| Depends on what you call loads. A Khyam Motordome Classic is superb but will set you back 300 notes. Well worth it though. It's def a case of getting what you pay for.
You could try a second hander via eBay. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| On the subject of awnings We were looking at the Kyham Motordome at Stoner Park yesterday and are now considering one But we ommited to look at the fixing to the camper Does it have the option for a pole & clamp fixing arrangement as well as the figure 8? We currently use the pole option on our tunnel awning ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| I use the figure 8 pole on mine but the pole and clamp method should work just as well. ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van | |

| I agree that the pole and clamp is the best option. watch out for the rain also creating a puddle between van and awning! | |

| I've got a Royal traveller 3 awning in the garager. It's got a really small tear which could be easily fixed with a puncture repair kit. I'm looking for about £60.00 if you're interested. Can check out how much postage is as I'm down in NE London.
It's the old Frame type check it out on line.

| scooby, i have the kyham motordome sleeper and connect it via pole and clamp, holds fast in really strong winds but if it is a bit slack it can flap a bit in strong winds and as previously mentioned fill will puddles, so get it as taught as you can. I also sprayed mine with a little proofing in this area as if it is really wet and the wind is blowing hard it can force fine droplets through...after i sprayed it didnt have the problem. Overall a very good awning, well made with a decent sized bag.
happy purchasing,
regards,

| We have a kyham motordome Tourer, pole and clamp is definately the way to go never comes off. Figure of 8 comes off in medium wind. Quickest erect system takes seconds, pity all the pegging takes 8 hours | |

| Kyham make great products, i didnt want the hassle of having to be inch perfect lining my bus up to an awning each time i went out so I bought Kyham screen house, its called a gazebo, but its pretty similar to a motordome without the van tunnel. you can still attach the door to the van to provide shade or dry area between van and tent. The nice thing is you can roll up the sides on a nice day. will post pics later. lots of these on fleabay. ________________________________________________________________________________ 2006 Air-Cooled Duby

| Word of warning - if you go for the screen house, dont use the word gazebo with the campsite's we now describe as tent or stand alone awning, as many sites dont allow gazebo's. We got caught out with this few weeks back on south coast. ________________________________________________________________________________ 2006 Air-Cooled Duby
