Hope the 'camping trio' survived ok last night, the weather was foul down here. I was thinking of going to the cruise today but looking out the window ............. that will be a no.

Same here Matt. Today has been turned into an enforced laundry day by the weather.

Despite the forecast, we arrived on site around 6pm in bright sunshine, found ourselves a suitable corner location leaving enough room for the other Brazibays and unpacked our flag pole, Brazilian flag and new sun canopy.
The Split Sombrero crew arrived in Jack around an hour later and within minutes the two young uns (both 6yo) were swapping DSi games and pretending to be pirates (no idea where that came from....) like they'd been mates for years.
Batman and Batgirl arrived in Robin a short while later and the Kombination (collective noun for Kombis) was complete!
The evening remained rain free so we wrapped up warm and sat around our vans drinking, chatting and sharing stories almost forgetting that we were parked in a field with around 50 other Dubs!
Saturday morning was a somewhat damper affair with sporadic showers and permanent cloud cover; although even more campers had arrived, as well as day visitors. Time to have a wander and check out the trade stands - about 2 dozen in all - and other site facilities.
There was a Falconry display and a show-n-shine during the day - none of the Brazi Bays entered although it was noted there was a "best watercooled" section, maybe next year although that might upset a few T4/5 owners!
At one point we thought we'd spotted a break in the clouds, a chink of bright blue on the horizon, but it turned out to be Scooby sporting his shiny new paws!
We had a few other visitors during the day too, Happyhouse and stephenjedward (sorry we missed you) and one or two curious non-brazibay owners.
Decent band in the marquee Saturday night and the local brew was going down well, however the weather had taken a turn for the worse so most of the trade stands and a good proportion of campers made an early exit.
By Sunday morning the camping field looked much more like a lake and at times it was 'all hands on deck' to help people getting stuck. Most of the splits and bays made it without too much effort but quite a few T4/5s needed more than a little help - the joys of front wheel drive!
At midday we headed off on a cruise through the forest to the beach, braving flooded roads but having fun all the way.
In all we found Dubs in the Forest to be a small, very relaxed and well organised event, the organisers New Forest Dub Club are nice friendly bunch too. It was a shame about the weather, the one thing none of us can control or predict, but it didn't dampen our spirits and we will probably be there again next year.

How did the Sun canopy cope with the rain?
Surprisingly well actually, it wasn't perfect but it gave us a dryish area outside making getting in and out of Tallulah much less of a (wet) pain and it meant we could keep the sliding open even when it was cats and dogs outside.
The instructions advise you to adjust it to more of a conventional tent shape when rain or wind is expected to allow the water to run off and to be less like a sail (see pictures above).
We had 8 people sat under drinking tea and coffee on Saturday afternoon, most useful!
Ours is from Funky Leisure and they currently only have the sunflower version in stock, new stock of all other colours - currently red, orange and a psychedelic blue pattern with more to follow - is due first week of July, just in time for CamperJam.

Scooby arrived at the show before lunch and dry it was not Mind you it was better than on the drive down - we had stopped in the New Forest for coffee
Scooby was getting his 'new paws' dirty, but he liked it
They would get even dirtier on the way out! Saw the Brazi Camp in the distance and bumped into Tallulah and thesplitsombrero whilst looking at the stands So here are one or two pics we like from the show . . .
Watched some of the Falconry display before having lunch Spotted the climbing poles (80 foot high) but was not tempted
Walked over to the Brazi Camp and met the final member of the camping trio - Batman A few pics of the set up . . .
It was good to meet up with you guys and see the Kombis in real life! To add a Yellow and Green into the pics we liked these . . .
Watched the presentations for the Show'n'Shine in the late afternoon and then said our goodbyes before heading off for something to eat back in the New Forest Had a FAB day - left the house at 8.30am and got back at 8.30pm A cool Kombi Kaper but some of it was intense . . .

The weather was certainly intense at times too!
PS: The owner of the Beetle pictured above also had a black Terrier called Tallulah!
