If you are looking for a relaxed, child friendly site on the western edge of the New Forest then I can highly recommend The Inside Park, just minutes from Blandford Forum.
Set in the gently undulating grounds of the former 18C Down House Estate with around 120 pitches, 60 ish with EHU, this site has plenty to offer.
The large adventure playground entertained our 6yo for ages, returning to us only when hungry. We then cycled 2 different walking/mountain bike trails and properly wore him out so we would all have a great nights sleep.
Other features:
Well maintained toilet, shower and washing up facilities.
Indoor games room with pool and table tennis tables and table football.
Picnic benches, free to use and relocate next to your pitch.
On site shop well equipped with all the normal 'essentials'.
Take away menus available at reception for the local delicacies of Blandford Forum!

OMG Tallulah - Inside Park is about 2 mins from our place! Good recommendation - one of the best sites ever - almost as good as Hill End at the end of the Gower Peninsula. We love Inside Park and camp there regularly with a massive group of mates - I got extremely drunk ( no never I hear everyone say!) a few years ago and ended up on a tree-hugging fest! LOL It's the mutts nuts of campsites - good tip!

We went to the Gower last April to the Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park we were meeting up with my sister very nice site but a big walk down to the beach. Definately would of prefered just a small jaunt to beach.
We did go to Rhossili Beach on the road home absolutely fantastic, I see Hillend site is right on it Batman wish we had stayed there instead.

Hill End is the Mutts Nutts mate - you can hear the waves breaking from your pitch! Great pub nearby - and the best surf shop in Wales - PJ's

As a gower lad born and bred - Hill end is possibly the worst experience anyone can ever have of gower
Apart form the surf being near by Carr eglwydd ( guess it might be on the tinternet as carreglwydd)at port eynon is much better and the Ship in has a great pint in an atmosphere that is minus the hords you get at the Kings head at gennith
Can't argue about Peters shops though
Kennexstone farm is good as well
If you really want an experience of gower though you can wild park here and no one will ever bother you (51.596005,-4.27241) drop the coordinates into google maps its a 5 minute walk to to the rhossili break from there
If you want to be near enough to walk to gennith to surf then broughton farm is nicer than the dreaded Hill end and longbarding in broughton bay is more fun and even for anything shorter is as much fun as even three peaks break - though not for the faint hearted
