Storage/Utility tent Empty
PostSubject: Storage/Utility tent   Storage/Utility tent EmptyFri Jun 07, 2013 5:38 pm

Thinking of using a storage or utility tent for short breaks away rather than setting up the drive away awning.. Wound be useful to put everyone in it and keep the van clear for everyday use so really one with a ground sheet would be preferable.. Anybody have any they'd recommend to me?
Saw a few at the sleepover but didn't take note of the brands, silly me... Any info would be gratefully received. Many thank Steve

We purchased a Kyham Driveaway Compact last year.

http://www.khyam.co.uk/detail.asp?p=756&product=Driveaway%20Compact%20200

There were a few at the sleepover. It was fine but really only for storage. We plan to upgrade to a motordome for this season.

We had one of these at the Sleepover:

...got a good deal at Volksworld Show.

Its not pretty, but it packs up very small and withstood a strong wind by the sea a couple of weeks ago. Can store loads of stuff - chairs, coolbox etc. Just wish it didn't look quite so much like a portaloo cabin Sad

We used one of these tidy tents from www.caveinnovations.com - big enough for all our stuff and 2 minutes to erect.

If you buy from www.umbrellaheaven.com (listed under "Innovation Products") they are £49 but there is a 20% offer at the moment until 31st July using code TT20 at the checkout.

Thanks Guys , either of Harry's or Dalesman's would suit us fine , had seen the Caves online and think something like that might suit us just fine....
Many thanks for the ideas , think I know where I'm going..

we picked up a pop-up tent on ebay last year - it was just after Glastobury...used once, £10. Its up in seconds, and takes about 30 seconds to wrestle it back into the bag again. Ideal for chucking our bags, car seats etc in for a quick weekend camping...

We put this up alongside the sun canopy and it's ideal. Sometimes with a windbreak for privacy.

The awning we have is great but, it does take about 30 minutes to erect, peg down and sort out, which is ok for a week, but for a 1-2 night stay feels like over-kill.

Just invested in a dome tent Keith that sounds pretty similar to your set up... Not too dissimilar to Dalesman's set up either... Am thinking sun canopy , windbreak , storage tent = job done... Great advice as always guys...
