Hi Everyone
I expect you , the same as us, have had a bonanza of camper themed Christmas presents, but should any of you want a Camper Van cookbook by Martin Dorey, please let me know. Jill

I stated 'nothing with a campervan on it' this year, as it's starting to get out of control. Laughing

Scooby thinks we should have a "Swap Shop" at one of our BraziBay Meet Ups
Perhaps at Volksworld and/or the DazDub Do
Where your double (or treble) gifts could be swapped for other Bay related items
This would of course include the cook book so many of you seem to have been given
What do you think?

Don't know about Martin Dorey's book but I've now got a copy of Steve Rooker's book. Just getting myself ready, you understand. Need to be prepared after all. Don't know why I bothered though, as I'll only be eating beans on toast or cereal for my first few outings. Now how difficult can that be?

For those of us without a grill, the gelert portable toaster is a stroke of genius.!

Easiest meal to cook though - definitely pasta w/ sauce. Even a few chopped onions fried up first, if I'm feeling adventurous.

Do you make or buy your sauce(s)?

when camping, a bit of both... chop fresh onions, garlic, bacon, then add a sauce once fried off.

cheese optional...

I got myself a collapsible collander last week (the shopping continues), which I'm looking forward to testing out this weekend in the van!

it was from Amazon I think - just do a search for Kitchen Craft Colourworks Collapsible Colander - they do them in a variety of colours so you can hopefully get one that matches your van!

I've got this on my Wishlist @ Amazon (which is really just a bookmark for when I get round to buying it). Looks really neat.

Saw some collapsible bowls along the same sort of lines but not so convinced about those.

they also do a collapsible bucket - ideal for putting dirty dishes (outside the van.....).

On my Amazon wishlist I have -

Swissarmy penknive (trying to convince myself that I need one again....last owned one when i was about 10)
Inflatable sofa - for late-night campfire comfort?!
Gelert folding toaster
solar garden lamps (for marking out guy ropes)

We have a folding toaster and to put it bluntly... It's rubbish.

We used it once, we're very disappointed and have never used it since - we may have binned it by now, not seen it for while.

Oh really? oh dear. I've read mixed reviews I have to say. SOme people rave about it, others not.

Was it the flat sort that does one at a time, or the one that takes 4 standing up?
