Well actually, I used to have one of those and thought it rather good. It made decent toast and only got replaced/stored/lost because I bought a proper grill to toast under. When all I had was a burner, it was brill.

they also do a collapsible bucket - ideal for putting dirty dishes (outside the van.....).

Now that sounds a good gadget. Will check out forthwith.

On my Amazon wishlist I have -

Swissarmy penknive (trying to convince myself that I need one again....last owned one when i was about 10)

I've a Leatherman and thinks its "essential"

Inflatable sofa - for late-night campfire comfort?!

Sounds good but not sure I could be bothered to inflate. I have however seen e self inflating mattresses that can fold into chairs when needed.

it was from Amazon I think - just do a search for Kitchen Craft Colourworks Collapsible Colander - they do them in a variety of colours so you can hopefully get one that matches your van!

Many thanks! And they have an orange one! Very Happy

I'm going to order it in a moment. And then off to hunt for collapsible bucket for dirty dishes. I have seen people using them and always wanted to add one to our van too. The foldable bowl we use at the moment does not have a handle so it is a bit awkward to carry.

As for pen knives we go like a little armoury - we have both Victorinox (me) and Letherman (husband) and in mushroom season Opinel mushroom penknife. Wink

OK, I know it is a bit mental Laughing

Used to have an Opinel knife. Bought it in Les Contamines 30+ years ago and only lost it within the last few years. Great knife and very distraught at the loss. Never realised they had mushroom specific ones though.

I didn't know that until I got one for my birthday Wink It has a little brush at the end :

Great knives they are, indeed. I used to have a really tiny one ages ago and also lost it so my mushroom one was a nice compensation.

inflatable sofa just needs an electric pump - it'll be up in no time! Although i'd recommend something to sit it on to prevent punctures (oh, and don't sit too near the campfire!).

thanks for the knife tips though - will investigate further. I'm just looking for an excuse to buy a new toy really....so I'm prepared for any stones stuck in horses shoes at a moments notice...
