| Off to Leominster tomorrow for the BH weekend. Staying at a dog friendly site behind a pub (what a shocker!) - Barons Cross. I wasn't planning on going this far but Alison fancies going to an Antiques fair at the Royal Welsh Showground, in Builth Wells so I'm keeping her happy. Any tips for places to visit whilst we're in the area? Taking the trailer for its first outing - wish me luck: ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| FAB pics of the camper and trailer Kombination Guess "take it steady" is the only advice if it's your first trip with the trailer Would be interested in how it handles Rooby Roo ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| There's no escaping that the trailer combo looks great. Unfortunately I look at trailers in the same light as three wheeled motorbikes (or even bikes with trailers). I can understand why people have them though (trailers that is, not trikes). | |

| Each to his own LL - The trailer gives us some more room to take the Weber grill, awning, etc - and will be especially useful when we head to France in August for 3 weeks. It's parking anywhere that concerns me most! ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| I remember there being a few decent pubs although it's been a while so I can't remember what any are called.
Stayed at the youth hostel with a big group (30 ish) on a walking weekend, last time we were there, I was on crutches after my knee op so volunteered to stay behind and take care of the cooking.
Thai green veggie curry, 3 different meaty stir frys and hand made spring rolls plus rice - think they were only expecting sausage beans and chips! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

The indian in Leominster "Jalalalabad Akbari" 01568 615656. Ah, memories... used to frequent there a lot in my hang gliding days. Hay Bluff and Pandy were great sites. | |

| Pontypandy must be the most unlucky village there is, there's a fire or emergency situation almost every week. Insurance premiums must be astronomical! Just as well they have a decent fire crew! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Mid break report: we changed venue slightly and ended up at the Arrow Caravan Park in Eardisland, a beautiful village with a couple of pubs, on the Black and White trail.
Weather a bit cool but has brightened up now as I sit outside waiting for the kettle to boil.
Great dog walk on site including badger sett where the park manager assures me you can watch badgers at dusk. He's a Geordie mind, so maybe every animal he sees is black and white!
Photos to follow when we're back home. The forecast isn't so good for tomorrow so the awning may have to go away wet (again).
Towing the trailer was a breeze (Mrs B is driving us back) although trying to reverse when you can't see it is impossible! ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder
