Northern Chapter Meet 2015 - Fri 19th - Sun 21st June

Over 400 miles for me. I imagine I'll be there late Fri, as I can't leave until after dropping off my girls at school, though I'm staying Sunday night and travelling south again Monday.

I am thinking for our Sunday drive we could go to the Falkirk Wheel and/or the Kelpies they are about 30mins away from the campsite.

You can go on a boat trip and travel on the wheel if you want, lots of parking aswell


The Kelpies are part of the Helix project and are a great attraction, great walks for dogs and kids with bikes or scooters really flat.

That would be great. I was only reading about the Kelpies yesterday. I've seen them from the main road but not close up.

There is also a distillery nearby aswell Deanston Distillery


So we get some whisky go round and round on a wheel and end up between two horses heads sounds like a northern meet to me

Definitely like the idea of distillery visit. Not so sure about going round and round afterwards though, at least not on a wheel. Walking that way might be enforced by circumstances

Not long now

We've been to the campsite and confirmed the numbers, 8 campers and 1 eriba altogether. Shes having to give us hard standing pitches as due to the weather we've been having she couldn't guarantee we wouldn't sink into the grass!
No event shelter allowed, but will allow close pitching so we can organise sun canopies together if needed.

We're off to sample the local brewery tour this weekend, its a tough job but someones got to do it!
