| Sorry that was totally random... I was scrolling back to get the earlier posts about Ronnie's van... as it's the same age as Bumble... and went back too far and found Absinthe's comment and couldn't resist the reply. | |

| Opened up Bumble's spare wheel cover and gave it a clean (also turned it round to ensure the small amount of water that had collected in there drains out - thanks TimV). Also discovered what the little key which came with Bumble is for; the previous owner had passed it over saying "don't know what the little key is for" (!) He'd never opened the spare wheel cover | |

| Today I took our spare wheel out of the inside of the van at the rear where our heads are to sleep so as to gain a bit more room. ..tried it on the roof rack (too big), wrapped it in a plastic cover, and put it between the front seats...(unsightly), put it in the garage and went out for a run in the kombi, realised that if we had a flat then we would be kippered without a spare. So got back home and retrieved the spare from the garage and decided to put it in the original place in the bus!!! Sorted! ________________________________________________________________________________ Timmm

| We leave our spare wheel in the back, but take it out and place it in the awning when we camp. The wife made a foam block that fits into the well it leaves to give more sleeping space. We have RAC recovery, so if we should get a flat (never happened in 30 years) they only have to take us back to the campsite. ________________________________________________________________________________ I am an Engineer. | The is actually no legal requirement to have a spare tyre although it is advisable. An alternative is a can of tyre weld stored under the back seat. | |

| On Thursday, Morrison asked Bumble out to play and we all went to Polesden Lacey. We had a kombi lunch and went round the house and grounds. When we came back, we were the only Bays in the car park (and nearly the only vehicles left in the car park!) | |

Blimey, AquaBays are economic but driving to Oz is going to cost you a fortune. Suggest you try an AirBus. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

So got back home and retrieved the spare from the garage and decided to put it in the original place in the bus!!! Sorted! If you remove the gallery rail from your roof rack you would be able to mount your spare wheel on it.

I think if I remove any rail from our roof rack, ill drop to bits. Probably depends on what sort of roof rack you have. Roobarb has done exactly what I suggested and it works fine for them.
