Emptied it out, cleaned it up, loaded my bike on the back and drove to Ashtead where I loaded 3 more bikes before having a carb loading meal with friends, watched a movie and had an early night.

5am start for the London to Brighton bike ride.

Packed Absinthe, prepped and loaded the Bromptons on to the rack, polished her to within an inch of her life. Next stop Portsmouth tomorrow night,, then onwards to Bilbao, Carcassonne, Collioure*, Perpignan and then back for two nights in Bilbao, to visit the Guggenheim.

Forecast looks great - can't wait.

* including a rendezvous with Julie and Keith

Well that didn't last long. Broken down about 20 mins from home. Intermittent power and some black smoke from the exhaust. RAC on the way.

Daz thinks it's the O2 sensor. No time to sort it before we leave so it's the Defender for us. We'll need to find an inflatable or camp beds before we pitch up next Tuesday. Or a hotel?

SHE STARTS! Finally after 4 stressful days we have solved cecelias non start ECU immobiliser problem. I say "we", but the hard work was done by daz and sparkysteve. Thanikyou both for your words of support, advise and pages and pages of technical diagrams. What lovely people! We have found the loose connection and are back on the road. Phew!
